"You can sleep,"

"I'm not gonna fall asleep," Hanta says, like a person who's definitely going to fall asleep. Shouto doesn't mind it, though. He would prefer it, actually.

Hanta shifted his arm in the sling, not really feeling it due to the slightly concerning amount of painkillers the nurses pumped into him. "Mr. Nishiya is returning my phone tomorrow morning before I get discharged, so I'll still be able to talk to you during my recovery,"

Shouto hummed and lightly grazed his finger along the edge of his bandage. "It's only three days," Hanta said in reassurance.

"'S too long," Shouto sighed.

Hanta chuckled. "I'll be in class Wednesday morning like nothing ever happened,"

Shouto's only response was a dismissive hum as he took Hanta's hands and brought it to his lips. They stared at one another intensely before Hanta cracked a smirk and retracted his hand to caress Shouto's face.

Hanta was awoken by Shouto sneaking out of the bed with the beginnings of a note on the table. "Are you writing me a note? That's so romantic," Hanta cooed sleepily.

Shouto jumped. "I didn't want you to worry...unlike some people," he rolled his eyes, teasingly, and if not for that Hanta would've doubted it were a joke.

"Completely my fault, I will give you prior notice before I get injured in any capacity next time," Hanta said with a hand to his pearls and his eyes apologetically closed.

Shouto glared. "There won't be a next time," he said, pointedly.

"Sir, yes Sir," Hanta said, hardly bothering to open his eyes as he leaned in for a kiss. Shouto met him halfway, keeping it curt, but not without any heat to it.  It's as it has always been — perfect. Even with a concussion and a messed up shoulder in the hospital.

"I have to go," Shouto said softly, "Wednesday," he nodded.

"Okay, go before you end up on an insider article," Hanta teased. He smiled gently and pressed a kiss to Hanta's forehead before slipping out of the room into the still dark halls of the Hospital.

Hanta drifted back to sleep with a smile on his face. He had a feeling that his next twelve hours would be exhausting.

He was right.

His Mom woke him at exactly nine AM, the start of visiting hours, with a change of clothes and a light breakfast. His Dad's dark circles were darker than usual, but he still did his silent assessment that he typically performed whenever any of them were hurt.

Roughly an hour later, Kamui Woods came by in civilian clothes with his personal belongings that he had left in his locker. "I'm glad you're doing better kid," he'd said fondly. "And some friendly advice, try to keep your boyfriends' grilling to a minimum," he teased.

"Shouto grilled you?" Hanta said, amusement lacing his voice.

The hero nodded. "And the firework kid, Dynamite I think? He came through demanding answers we didn't have," They talked for a little while longer before Woods left to sleep off his 24 hour shift.
