-1st person POV-
I awake to blinding white light blocking my vision. I hear voices whisper incoherent things around me. My head aches and my entire body feels sore.
I attempt to move my wrists but halt as a cold metallic unknown item makes contact with my cool skin. Panic rises within me and I struggle to move my ankles. After trying for what feels like hours, I eventually grow tired and give up.
"I'm glad to see that you are finally awake." The blinding white light is removed from my vision. I allow my eyes to adjust to the darkened room I am in.
"Don't worry, we have alerted your brother that you are here." My body freezes at the sound of the man's voice. I have dreaded this day since the Resistance started. I open my mouth to scream, but nothing escapes my dry lips.
"It hasn't been easy for the Scarecrows to capture you. You have a nasty habit of keeping them on their toes." My eyes finally adjust to the darkness. I look down at my wrists and ankles only to find that they are chained down.
"We had to find a way to hold you down somehow. You see, the Raven wants to keep you alive. He says that you will come in hand later on. Personally, I think you should die."
I take in my surroundings and come to the realization that I am in an interrogation room. The man is sitting across me and is cleaning his nails with a knife. His bronze steampunk goggles stare back at me with intensity that I have never seen before.
"As you have guessed, I'm not the Raven. I am the Crow and the Raven has put me in charge of you. It is my job to make sure that you follow the Raven's orders."
The Crow gestures to my left and I follow with my eyes. My eyes grow wide when I see two Scarecrows in nurse outfits. I've never been fond of needles and I can almost guarantee that the tray they are holding has at least needle on it.
"No need to panic," the Crow calmly states, "they're just going to insert a tracking device into your neck. It's going to pinch a little."
I grit my teeth as the Scarecrows place the tray on the table. One of the Scarecrows grabs my head and tilts it to the right. The other Scarecrow grabs a small computer chip and a scalpel. I shut my eyes in fear as I feel the edge of the scalpel make contact with my skin. My body tenses in pain as I feel the Scarecrow insert the computer chip underneath my skin. There is a lingering amount of pain as the Scarecrow proceeds to sew my skin back together.
"See, that wasn't that bad. Now they're gonna give you a light sedative."
Through a clenched jaw I finally muster up a few words to say to the Crow. "Go to Hell you sonova bitch!" I feel the Scarecrow inject something sharp into my neck. I open my eyes and glare at the Crow as he continues to clean his nails with his knife. My vision starts getting blurry and I strain to keep my eyes open.
-3rd person POV-
The Crow watches as the Scarecrows unchain Juliet and place her on a gurney. Another Scarecrow comes in and removes the tray. The Crow smiles to himself as he imagines all the torture he's going to put Juliet through.

The fight between the Runaways and Scarecrows has ended and each side has lost a number of people. The Runaways search the gymnasium for any remaining recruits. Bones knows that they must find a new hiding place and they must do it fast.
"Bones," Dave begins, "I need to speak to you privately." Dave escorts Bones to an empty hallway and takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I let the Scarecrows take your sister so I could pull the alarm."
"You let the Scarecrows take my sister so you could pull the alarm," Bones repeats quietly. Even though Bones is glad that Dave pulled the alarm, his anger ignites and he shoves Dave against the wall.
Dave knew that Bones would be mad, but he realized that it's easier to tell Bones than wait for a message from the Raven. Bones knew that there must have been a reason why the alarms sounded before the Scarecrows attacked.
Meanwhile, Benn and Hayden are calming down the scared recruits. Hayden, being the calm person that he is, reassures the few recruits that everything will be okay. Benn, on the other hand, knows that a rescue mission is going to be initiated soon.
-1st person POV-
I awake to another blinding white light in my face. To my relief, the light fades and is replaced with a blank white ceiling. I feel a throbbing in my head and a stinging where the Scarecrow placed the chip under my skin.
I look around the room rather slowly. There is medical equipment not far from my bed. Like before, both my hands and feet are chained to the gurney that I am laying upon. Even if I tried, there's no guarantee that I'll get out of here alive. The Raven has probably sent a message to Bones. I pray that my brother saves me before I'm forced to become a Scarecrow.
