I was in the clouds. I kept walking, hoping the storm would pass. Soon I passed through a giant, silver walkway. Again, I heard the rumbling. An impossibly low voice came with it.
"WHO GOES THERE?"
I put on a brave face and replied loudly and boldly. "My name is Jack." It came out sounding more wispy than it should've.
"JACK, LIKE A HUMAN?"
"Well, yes, but I won't hurt you,"
"THAT'S WHAT THE LAST ONE SAID!" I hear the thunder again.
The creature came into sight. My nose reached up to its ankle. It was GIANT. Easy enough, from now on I'll call it a giant. If I live past this day, that is.
I try to sneak back to the beanstalk to journey back home, but the giant is too quick for me. Or it could just be that each of his steps are 100 feet apart. The giant pinches me between his index finger and thumb. He could kill me right there. He starts squeezing his fingers together.
"Wait! Stop! Sir!" Sir? This giant is nothing like a 'sir.'
The giant loosens his grip.
"Please! Just give me a moment to speak!" I don't even know what I'll say, but I have to say something. My life depends on it. "I know you may not have the best history with humans, but you can trust me. I am good. Not evil."
The giant's veins pop out at just the word 'evil.'
"Please. Just let me go and I'll be out of your way," I plead.
To my surprise, the giant lets me go and says, "I WISH NEVER TO SEE YOU AGAIN."
Whoa. Okay. "Never again," I repeat his words.
I scurry off towards Midas' palace, lucky to be alive. Hopefully Midas can provide some help.
