This story is not based on actual Marvel events; I use a villain from the original Spider-Man movies, but I am basing my character off of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but please, imagine whoever you want in that role!

Please enjoy!

"Go go go!" Peter yelled at Ned and I.

Peter and I ran after Green Goblin while Ned waited back at the entrance of the warehouse.

"You got this!" Ned yelled at us, his voice getting quieter as we quickly chased him.

Peter started swinging from the ceiling, closing the distance between him and Green Goblin. I continued running below, keeping an eye on both of them.

The Goblin quickly turned around and swooped past Peter, cutting one of his webs, causing him to lose his balance as he swung.

He then headed towards me, preparing to throw a grenade my way. I got ready to dodge it as it went spiraling in my direction. I jumped to the side, quickly running and ducking behind a tower of boxes.

As the grenade went off, Peter slammed into the side of the Goblin, sending him and his glider flying to the ground.

There was a moment of weakness for Peter to pounce, but instead of taking him down, he ran towards me, thinking I had been caught by the grenade.

It had knocked me back a little with boxes falling on top of me, but was nothing I couldn't handle.

"Peter! He's getting away!" I yelled, still covered in boxes.

All of a sudden, Peter and I heard the infamous laugh from the Goblin coming towards the corner of the warehouse. We looked in that direction only to see green smoke, and he was gone.

"Shit! Shit shit shit!" Peter yelled. He finished helping get boxes off of me, helped me up, and went over to sit down on one of the boxes towards the wall.

I decided to give him a minute to himself, so I ran up to the front to tell Ned what had happened. I sent him home and told him to be safe, then headed back to where Peter was sitting.

I sat down next to him.

"Peter, don't beat yourself up. You know this kind of thing happens all the time," I said, trying to comfort him.

"I know I know, I just hate letting Mr. Stark and the others down," he said, putting his face in his hands.

I put my arm around his shoulder and pulled him into me.

"How about we go for a coffee and a bagel? Wherever you want?"

He let out a deep sigh and turned to me, smiling.

"That would be wonderful."

Peter and I sat at a small table in a cafe, eating our bagels and having coffee. We talked about recent missions we had both gone on, about the other avengers, and things we were doing at the compound.

I could tell Peter was still upset about the mission, so I wanted to continue to try to cheer him up. I don't know why I felt so compelled to help him feel better, but him prioritizing me over the Goblin really opened my eyes to how great of a guy he was.

I had always had a little crush on him since becoming an avenger, and he was always so thoughtful when it came to stuff like that. We flirted quite a bit when we were around each other, but it never really went anywhere since we were both always so busy.

A small part of me always wished that something would happen between us, though, and for the first time since I became an avenger, I had some free time after our last mission, and so did Peter.
