(i am starting school today so the updates might be a little slow, but i will still try and get updates out every day!)

vance made his way home after he was doing the project with bruce. why did vance even ask him to partners? he was not lying when he said he didn't care about the grade, he obviously didn't. he only asked because... because. he wasn't too sure. its not like he liked bruce. he hated his stupid smile. he hated his stupid perfect hair. he hated how smart he was. he hated how good he was at everything. he hated him. but he loved him.

bruce was the exact opposite of vance. they were, in no way, like each other. vance, the town bad boy. bruce, the town good boy. vance pulled out a cigarette packet from his jacket pocket, along with a lighter. after it was lit, the pack and lighter was shoved back in his pocket. he took a long hit, waiting a few seconds before exhaling out all the smoke.

the next day at school, vance was late to the first class by a mere 10 minutes. he made his way towards his seat, giving the middle finger to mrs kythadoris, who was scolding him for being late.

"mr hopper! you are to go to the principals office after class." mrs kythadoris told vance. he just stuck up his middle finger again, this time saying;
"fuck you." to the teacher.
the teacher decided to ignore him and told the class to just keep working on their projects. vance pulled the paper out of his pocket and turned around on his chair, his arms resting on the back side of the chair. he unfolded his paper on bruce's desk.

"hey bruce! working with vance? be careful, he might go all feral on you too! dudes a freak" a kid sat next to bruce spoke.

"what? no he-"
"the fuck did you just say about me?" vance interrupted bruce. he stood up, towering over the kid.
"you heard me." the kid laughed. bruce could see vance was about to pounce on him. and he did. vance picked up a pencil and stabbed it into the kids hand. he immediately screamed out in pain. vance picked him up by his shirt collar and landed a knee to his stomach.

"vance, stop!" bruce told him, but vance continued to punch the poor boy. the teacher and the principal ran into the classroom and pulled vance off the boy, who was left with a bloody nose, mouth, and the pencil still lodged into his hand.
"bruce, please take vance up to the office." the principal told bruce as he helped mrs kythadoris pick the hurt kid off the floor. bruce led vance out of the door, tugging him up to the front office by his sleeve.

"what the fuck was that for?" bruce asked him, with a stern tone.
"you heard what he said. he had it coming" vance spat out, still fumed by the situation.
"you are going to get suspended for a whole month vance!" bruce told him, but not looking back to look at him. "jesus christ.. are you alright though?" bruce asked.

"yeah, barely got any punches in." vance chuckled slightly, looking down at his scarred knuckles, seeing no blood. "i want to punch you right now. but i won't. i hope." vance continued to say.

"what the fuck?" bruce stopped walking, and turned around to face him.
"it's funnest when i see blood after a fight, that's how i know i really win" vance spoke as if it were a normal thing to say on a daily basis.

"you know that not normal, right?" bruce had never been scared of vance. probably because he's never had to be around vance. but right now. right now he was scared. he couldn't show it though. he didn't want to feel any more vulnerable around vance hopper than he already did.
"im aware. sorry if that scared you or whatever, i didn't mean it." vance said, he didn't sound apologetic, but he probably did mean it.

bruce shrugged and continued walking. at the office bruce explained what happened while vance was sat in on a bench outside. the secretary told bruce that the principal said vance were to be suspended for a week.

"a week? only? jeez" vance said when bruce told him what happened in the office. "not like i do much school anyways" vance mumbled quietly and quickly. "so anyways, can i come over again to work on the project?" vance asked.

jeez, he talks an awful lot more than i thought he would.. bruce thought to himself for a quick second. "today? i cant today, i have a baseball game."
"oh, alright, well maybe i will stop by and watch you for a bit" vance shrugged. "welp, i'm gonna head out now. see ya later bruce"

"see ya" bruce called after him.
but there it was again. bruce. its the same way he spoke every other word. but that was his name. it sounded perfect. like it was supposed to be there forever. bruce knew he was being crazy about vance. he shouldn't be loving how vance makes him feel. he doesn't exactly know what it is, but he know he wants more.

after school bruce quickly made his way out of the school. today, since it was game day, his parents would be picking him up, his parents had put his bag into their car before they came to pick bruce up.

"you excited for the game bruce?" his mother asked him sweetly, to which bruce violently nodded, followed by;
"hell yeah! my team is totally gonna win this!" bruce had always loved baseball, even when he was just a child. he would always play with little baseball toys and hit with kiddie bats. baseball had always been bruce's thing, and he was very good at it too.

once he made it to the field, he took out his bag and ran over to his teams bench. he had changed into his team outfit and was waiting for the game to really start.
"you ready to win this bruce?" asked one of his teammates.
"you know it!" bruce said excitedly.
