Y/N pov

Monday

I stayed at the Megumi/Gojo residence a little later than expected. Megumi turned on an adventure movie and we watched it while we ate. It was mostly quiet, apart from us occasionally critiquing the action, a character, or whatnot.

I wasn't really paying attention. I spent most of the time replaying the fight. Was it even a fight? Well whatever it was, it was my primary focus—the time allowed me to come up with a plan to confront Brett. I honestly wasn't sure what to do at first. Anytime I thought of it, I would feel red-hot rage zip through my veins. I wasn't going to wait until tomorrow. After this, I'm driving over to Brett's.

Gojo came out from the room he was in near the end of the movie and commented, "That doesn't look like the project."

Megumi flipped him off and I laughed. Seeing Gojo in a normal setting was weird, but he was his usual self. When the movie ended, Gojo left to "go out" (his words), so it was just Megumi and me again.

"Are you gonna be at school tomorrow?"

"Yeah," he sighs, stretching his arms slowly over his head.

"Meet in the library after?"

Megumi fiddles with his fingers, "I don't think that's a good idea."

I feel sizzling anger again but before I say anything, Megumi continues. "Your painting is due, so focusing on that might be better."

My eyebrows raise a little and I smile. It's a cover, but he's right. I need to finish it. I'm down to the wire.

"Then later? We can hang and do it then?" I start. "If you don't work."

Megumi considers this. I don't know what Brett said to him but I get the feeling Megumi wants to lay low for a while.

"Sure," Megumi says. "But I have work pretty much every day this week."

I make a face. "That's annoying."

Megumi quirks a brow but I ignore him as I try to figure out a plan.

"We can plan for Wednesday at least. Then Sunday."

"When's your application due?" Megumi asks.

"Saturday at midnight."

Megumi finishes another slice of pizza. "Gojo is usually out on Wedneaday so we can hang here."

I smile, "Okay." Then I gasp, "Let's hang at my house!"

Megumi makes a surprised face at my outburst.

"On Sunday?" I say.

"I don't know," Megumi draws out.

"Please?" I ask.

"Fine," Megumi grumbles as if it's the hardest thing he's had to do. I giggle and stand up. At the door, we talked about the project and what we should get done before Wednesday.

"So..." I start once the door opens but then stop myself.

"What, sunshine?"

"It's stupid."

"Ask and if it is, I'll let you know."

I roll my eyes," At school... I don't— I want to be able to say hi and talk to you."

Megumi understands what I mean and leans slightly against the door frame.

"You can do whatever you want."

"Yeah but what about—"

"Don't worry about me. You can do whatever you want," Megumi repeats, a smirk on his face.
