Y/N POV
Sunday
I drive over to Megumi's place to pick him up. He was stubborn and all, "I can get there myself," but my house is a 15-minute drive to get to school and I was not about to have him walk along a busy road for 5 miles. After I pick him up, the drive is relatively quick. I ask him about work and he asks me about the painting and the application. When we pull up to my driveway, Megumi whistles as he looks at my house.
"Come on," I say, hopping out of my car and up to my front door.
As I open the door, I turn to Megumi. "You've infiltrated my lair. Welcome."
He rolls his eyes and puts his hand on my head, ruffling my hair softly.
"So scary," he teases. I swat his hand away and close the door.
"This place is like a castle." He comments as we walk through the living room and to the kitchen. The ceiling is tall and the cabinets are white, with new appliances and dark wood floors.
"Would you like a tour, good sir?" I ask with a British accent (rip Queen Elizabeth).
Megumi smirks, "sure."
We walk through the living room again and I show him the dining room with the chandelier. We walk by the hallway with large windows.
"I bet you hosted your friends all the time."
I laugh nervously, "not really."
"Seriously?" Megumi asks as he looks in the backyard to see our pool and shaded patio.
"Yeah I guess it just never worked out that way." I shrug. It's not like I never tried to get my friends to come over. I remember I invited the girls over in middle school but they all said they couldn't make it... I found out later that night that they were all hanging out without me. We go upstairs. I point to my parent's room and the bathroom and stop in front of my bedroom.
"This is my room," I smile and open the door. I'm very proud of it. It's a pretty big room with the basics of a queen bed, dresser, nightstand and desk. My favorite part is half of my room is my art "studio." I have my easel up and paint and old projects on the wall and floor.
"I don't think you could make this room anymore you," Megumi says as he walks around. He goes over to my art side and gives each painting a few moments, really taking in every aspect of my space. He teases me about my stuffed animal and points out some baby and little pictures of me.
"You don't have any siblings?" Megumi asks.
I shake my head, "No. Just me and my parents."
"No pets?"
"My dad is allergic to dogs," I frown. "But I had a goldfish once, it lived for a few years too."
It's quiet for a few seconds.
"Do your parents know I'm here?" Megumi asks, making his way back over to me.
"No," I shrug. "But it's not like they could do anything about it when they're hundreds of miles away."
Megumi stops in front of me. There's sadness in his eyes that surprises me. I feel antsy under his gaze.
"Why?" I ask, tilting my head to the side, a teasing tone to my voice. "Are you gonna steal our fortune?"
His eyes move around my face. "Damn, you saw right through my master plan."
I laugh and walk out of my room and we head back downstairs.
"How long are your parents gone for?"
"A few weeks, they come back soon though."
"So it's just been you? In this big house by yourself?"
