I stand firing arrows into a target. Arabella's diary has given me a lot to think about. That was not the end of her story, someone else continued it. I asked Jacob lot's of questions about what some things meant. Like what the secret he was keeping from me was. This is a huge shock. Jacob is a Ninja. A child of Helena, Isaac or Saraphina. Jacob says he is a descendant of Helena. He didn't know all about Arabella but he did know how the Ninjas came to be.
Jacob thinks I might be a Ninja too, He says that Ninjas are sort of like secret service. They sneak around and try to take care of things before they turn into a country wide problem. I had asked him if there was a way we could find out if I was a Ninja. He said that my parents wouldn't know if I was since the genes usually skips a few generations. Ninjas have like a history collection and can somehow keep tabs on every Ninja born.
I really wonder if I am a Ninja, Jacob says that he'll check for me. I'm waiting for him to come back as I shoot. I my parents weren't home, thank god; so I don't have to explain to them why Jacob is leaving and then coming back.
"Lennie!" I hurry downstairs as Jacob throws open the door. "Well?" I ask. He grins. "Your first meeting of the Ninja Corps. Will be on the fourth of November." I stare him, "So I'm Ninja?" Jacob laughs. "Yes you are and you are a descendant of Helena too." My heart sinks. "So we're related?" Jacob laughs. "No, we don't pass on our DNA the same as normal humans. We only get our DNA from the mortal side of of families. I checked it's your fathers side that has the Ninja blood so all of your DNA comes from your mother." I nod. "Something I forgot to tell you when we read Arabella's diary." Jacob frowns, "What?" He asks. "Arabella and I share the same birthday." Jacob frowns, "Really? You were here for your birthday and didn't tell us?" I shrug, "Yeah, I guess." Jacob flashes a smile, "Well now I know."
Isabelle, Jessamine and Olivia are being really weird. They are hiding something. I've tried asking them and Jacob but none of them will tell me anything. Finally the day before I'm supposed to meet with the Ninja Corps. I find out what they were planning. We never told them about Arabella's diary and they don't know about Ninjas.
Isabelle and the others came to my house for a sleep over. My parents weren't home and we had a great time. In the morning they tell me that I have a surprise today. "So we have to as your best friends we have to get you ready for the day." Jessie says. I shrug, "All right." Livy and Jessie pick out an outfit for me while Izzy does my hair. She does it in an elaborate braided hairdo, that wraps around my head. Somewhat like Princess Leia's in "Star Wars the Empire Srikes Back".
Jessie and Livy picked out black breeches, a long sleeved black and white plaid button down shirt with a black camisole underneath. I'm to wear my black paddock boots. "Are you going to tell me what's happening, or am I going to have to wait?" I ask. The smiles I get from them is enough of an answer.
They take me over to Livy and Jacobs house. Jacob stands out front with a horse and a dog. "This is Artemis." He says patting the horse, "And this is Skywalker." He says scratching the dog behind the ears. "They are your late birthday presents." Jessie says. I stare at them, "Thank you." I whisper. "Do you want to go for a ride?" Jacob asks. I nod and grin, "Count us out." Isabelle says and the three girls walk away. "Want to just take Artemis?" Jacob asks. I nod and we both mount, me in front and Jacob behind.
Skywalker trots along beside us. "Every Ninja has a horse and dog." Jacob says as we start down a trial. "You have a dog?" Jacob nods, "Yeah. Mine is named Vader." We ride a bit farther and then I turn to look at Jacob. I remember Arabella's diary. Her vision. Of us. Kissing.
Jacob whispers, "I want to make her vision come true." and he kisses me.
Best make up birthday ever.
