Night fell faster than Marinette expected. Now that everyone in the inn was asleep she got out of bed and crept out of her dorm room and made her way out of the wing where she stayed.
She made her way to the empty foyer and saw all candles were snuffed out and a huge grandfather clock's minute and hour hands showing the time 3:02AM.
Until a figure emerged from the shadows and Marinette realised it was the same guard who took care of her luggage when they arrived here.
His posture was slouched with his hands in pockets on both sides of his pants and blue to lighter blue locks were shaping his face.
She narrowed her eyes at him and gritted out, "You're late".
He shrugged his shoulders and spoke in an aloof tone, "Fashionably".
She scoffed at the blue haired man and folded her arms, "Well?".
"This 'thief' did stop here at the inn, but just for a meal and went back on the road," He spoke flatly.
She nodded at him. The thief knew people would be onto her. Which means she knew that people would come after her.
If I were a thief, I would probably try to throw them off my tail.
"Also... we spotted some more guards on their way here," He mentioned and she bit the inside of her cheek,
They found out the prince is with us. So Daddy dearest can't have his sweet son injured. Poor boy hasn't seen the true horrors of this world. Oh dear him, woe is me.
She rolled her eyes at that thought and looked at the blue haired man and extended her hand at him.
"Thank you..."
He smiled and took her hand
"You know, for someone's melody which is all dull and hollow on an overused broken instrument... you must have had a beautiful tune." He spoke in a soft tone while she sill kept her poker face on and went back to her room.

A breeze blew some of her bangs off her face as she adjusted herself on the horse saddle. It was a chilly morning and the cold kept her awake even though she does not enjoy goosebumps on her arms. She sees that everyone has arrived. Most of the party have been well rested and rejuvenated. Then a horn being blown interrupts her.
Then men and women in armor carrying swords and spears and bows and arrows and shields with the Agreste family insignia stitched on their breastplates and weapons.
"Prince Adrien, your father has sent us to-"
"I am accompanying them," He stated rather demandingly.
"But my prince-"
"Shush."
He holds a finger up and refuses to look at them. The brat can't see that time is wasted and no one cares about his tantrum. Until Max proposes the idea of accompanying them in the search. Max looks at Marinette expectantly until she grudgingly gives in and makes a hand motion saying 'come along'.
All while a pair of emerald eyes were unknowingly following her.

Adrien glanced up at the sky, remembering that there is a war going on. Yet it seemed so peaceful in the forest. From how Father talked, he'd imagine the world as a big battlefield. It was strange to see and interact in an environment with no sight or sounds of war, or any enemies.
