Lucifers pov
I hummed to myself as I got ready for my date. I haven't been romantically involved since Lilith. It was kinda exciting.
I walked outside to find marie bouncing on Charlie's lap. It's really sweet how close they've gotten despite the huge age difference.
"Now marie you be good for your big sister okay?" I petted her head.
"Yes mama. I'll be on my best behaviour" she chirped.
"Good girl" I kissed her forehead "thanks for looking after her Charlie" I smiled greatfully.
"Oh it's no problem. You know how much I love spending time with my baby sister" he hugged the giggling girl close "are you sure about this dad? You remember how he left you last time"
I sighed. I remembered all too well.
*Flashback*
"This can't be happening" I felt my breathing pick up as I stared at the stick. Pregnant? I'm having a baby!? I can't do this. I barely cut it as a father and being a mom is way harder! There's no way I can do this-
"Dad is everything okay" Charlie headed in looking worried.
"Charlie!" I rushed into her arms, crying "I'm sorry. I did something stupid!"
"Dad what are you-" she stopped once she saw the stick, immediately understanding "easy dad it's going to be okay" she rocked me gently. Eventually my breathing calmed down "there we are" she wiped my tears away "now can you tell me what happened?"
So I told her everything.
"That monster!" she growled, showing an anger I'm not used to seeing in my mild mannered daughter "when I get my hands on him-"
"No!" I grabbed her wrist "I don't want him to know"
"But dad-"
"Please Charlie" I looked at her pleadingly.
She sighed in defeat "alright dad. I'll do it for you" she pulled me into a hug. I lay against her shoulder with a smile. Maybe everything will be alright.
*End of flashback*
"Dad I couldn't bear to see you like that again" she looked at me tearfully.
"I'll be okay Charlie" I took her by the shoulders with a reassuring smile "I'm a lot more capable now"
"Okay" she nodded reluctantly.
"Are you ready to go Lucifer?" Alastor asked.
"Yep!" I followed after him with a smile.
"Look after him alastor. If anything happens to him you'll have me to deal with" Charlie said threateningly.
"Understood" he nodded nervously.
"Bye bye momma and daddy. Have fun" Marie waved to us.
"We will baby" I blew her a kiss before heading out.
