The two of them entered the library, joining the rest of the group.
"Look who finally decided to grace us with their presence," Ivor remarked.
"Good to see you too, Ivor." Jesse held back a laugh.
Petra, on the other hand, didn't bother holding back. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
"Excuse me for wanting to come up with a plan sooner rather than later."
"Well, they're here now." Olivia stepped in, most likely to avoid any further arguing. "So we wanted you to know that if you're sure about doing this, we'll all be here for you. Trust me, none of us wants this, but we would never doubt you, Jesse."
"Thank you. Really. This is important to me."
"We know this is hard for you, dude. But we've got your back." Axel threw his arm around her shoulders.
"Now that we've got that sorted out, how is Jesse supposed to get close enough to Herobrine to use the dagger?" Petra asked.
"Good question," Olivia stated, ready to explain the plan they had made. "I'm sure by now we've all seen Herobrine's fortress not too far from here, filled with all his prisoners. Once we get there, we split into two groups. Group A: Ivor, Axel, and myself. Group B: Petra and Lukas."
Jesse's eyebrows furrowed with confusion. Her name was not mentioned.
"Jesse, I'll get to you in a moment," Olivia added, answering her question. "Group A will discreetly escort all the prisoners out of the fortress, taking them as far away as possible. In the meantime, Group B will make sure Jesse gets to Herobrine unnoticed. Then, you will distract him, giving Jesse the time she needs to get the job done."
"How are we supposed to do that?" Petra interrupted.
"Use your imagination. Doesn't need to be anything excessive. Just some building or explosions to get Herobrine's attention. This won't work if he sees it coming." Olivia explained.
"And that's everything?" Jesse confirmed.
Olivia nodded. "I know it's a lot, but we've only got one shot at this."
"Wait, you never said how we were getting inside the fortress."
"That's taken care of. Last night, Axel and I made a quick visit to scope the place out. There's a hidden entrance in the back."
Jesse was about to say something about the fact that they could've gotten seriously hurt, but quickly stopped herself. They probably didn't tell Jesse they were going to do this because of how she would react. Everyone knew how protective Jesse is of her friends.
"Okay, any questions?" Olivia asked, taking a deep breath.
She scanned the room, acknowledging anyone shaking their head. Taking a quick glance outside, Jesse noticed the sun was already setting. There wouldn't be enough time to get everything ready by nightfall.
"We leave tomorrow night. It's smart to leave when we can go unseen." Jesse stated, looking around for any objections.
As she was about to leave, she was stopped by a hand grabbing hold of her wrist.
She looked up, discovering it belonged to Petra. "Wait. If Jesse is going to do this for us, we need to do something for her."
A few looks of confusion shot her way, waiting for her to explain further.
"If this really is the last night we are spending together as a team, we need to make the most of it. I don't want to sound too cheesy here, but this is the least we can do." She said, feeling slightly embarrassed.
