Soaked through (Sonadow)

Comfort

3rd person P.O.V.

Sonic woke up in a panic. He fell off the couch and took sharp breaths to try to calm himself down but it didn't work. He didn't know why he was so worked up about a dream of someone he knew was just fine and with Cream and Vanilla. He had just broken up with Amy and then immediately had a nightmare about losing someone, it freaked him out and he didn't know how to react.

It was still raining heavily outside it was the early morning, so early that you could barely see the sun. Sonic was still panicking and decided in his current state that going outside would help. So he ran out the door and slammed it behind him. He wasn't even wearing shoes, let alone a jacket. It was freezing outside and he was shaking, but it could have been from his panic. He couldn't think straight and ran into something or someone.

He looked up to see Shadow, 'Oh God! Shadow! Not Shadow! Anyone but Shadow!' He didn't want to explain the situation to Shadow or get criticism for being so stupid. He was too deep in panicked thoughts to notice Shadow speaking to him.

"Faker? What are you doing out here? And why are you not wearing a jacket? Or shoes for that matter." his tone was cold, but Sonic was way too cold himself to notice the ebony's words. "Faker?" Shadow was starting to get worried, he had heard about what happened with him and Amy, so maybe that was why he was like this.

That was actually where Shadow was going, he was going to check on Sonic because Rouge had told him what had happened and even though he would deny it at all costs, he was worried. And it seemed for good reason. "Sonic? Are you okay?" the blue blur finally noticed that Shadow was talking to him and made eye contact with him. "Y-yeah! S-sorry Shadz!" The hedgehog was still violently trembling. "Why are you put here in the rain faker? Especially because you're not dressed for it." Shadow tried to keep his tone as monotone as possible but was having a hard time because of how worried he was. Sonic didn't reply. "Sonic?" Shadow had decided that maybe using his real name would help. "Sonic, are you ok? What's happened?" Shadow put his hand on the blue blur's shoulder trying to bring him back to reality, Sonic just stood there, staring at the floor and mumbling, he didn't even realize that Shadow's hand was on his shoulder. "Sonic, look at me." The ebony grabbed the hero's chin and made him look at him. Sonic felt his face heat up as he stared into his beautiful ruby eyes, Shadow desperately tried to hide the worry on his face. Sonic took a deep breath trying to calm himself, he was soaked and freezing from the rain. "That's better, now what are you doing out here in the rain faker. Why don't you have any shoes on either." Sonic stared at Shadow, amazed by how gentle he was being, and tried to come up with something to say. He didn't want to tell Shadow what had happened. "O-oh hah I-I was just g-going for a run in the r-rain." Sonic tried his hardest to be his normal cocky self but was struggling. Shadow raised an eyebrow "Barefoot? And without a coat?" Sonic scrambled to find something to say but couldn't seem to find anything, he nodded instead. Shadow sighed "C'mon" Shadow grabbed Sonics wrist and began walking away dragging the blue hedgehog along with him. "W-wait! Where a-are we going?!" Sonic was terrified by what was happening "Calm down faker, we're just going back to my house because it's closer than yours. And you're very visibly shaking." the rain was loud and Sonic could just barely hear Shadow's voice over it. Sonic was still weirded out by how nice he was being but was just thankful that he wasn't being yelled at.

They got to Shadow's house and walked through the door. Shadow took off his shoes and jacket. "Go take a shower, you need to warm up." Shadow instructed hanging up his jacket "I'm r-really fine. I don't need help, I-I can just go back home." Shadow glared at Sonic and then took off a glove, he placed his now ungloved hand on Sonic's cheek. Sonic leaned into his touch and closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth, and placed a hand atop Shadows. "Holy shit," Shadow mumbled under his breath, he knew Sonic was cold, but he didn't think it was that bad, but it felt like he was touching literal ice. "Sonic, see what I mean, your freezing you need to warm up." Sonic didn't respond and instead seemed to lean into Shadow's touch even more "Sonic I'm being serious, if you don't go warm up right now you could get seriously sick." Sonic pulled himself closer to Shadow and into a tight embrace the ebony gasped at the coolness of the blue hedgehog's skin on his. "I like this a lot more." Sonic seemed so peaceful to Shadow if it wasn't for the shivering of the blue hero. " Sonic, your soaking wet, and you're getting me all wet, you need to go take a shower." Sonic finally pulled away from the embrace and apologized to Shadow for suddenly doing that and turned around to walk away, but as he did Shadow swore he saw the other blushing as he left to go shower.

When Sonic had gotten out of the shower, Shadow had given him some of his clothes to the other because Sonics clothes were soaking wet, but Shadow was a bit bigger than Sonic was, so the clothing was a bit big on him. Sonic walked into the living room wearing a sweater that was a bit big on him and shorts. He went and sat down next to Shadow, who was sitting on the couch reading a book. Sonic stared at the crimson-striped hedgehog for a couple of seconds, "Can I help you?" Shadow replied confusingly at the blue hero's eyes on him "Thanks Shadz, for ya know, helping me." "Speaking of, do you mind telling me what happened before I found you?" the ebony set down his book on the coffee table and made eye contact with the nervous hedgehog. "I-it's stupid, n-not a reason that would matter anyway." Sonic started unconsciously fidgeting with his gloves, something he often did but didn't realize he did so. "Well, I would still love to hear your' Unimportant reason'" Shadow seemed to get closer to Sonic as he scrambled to find some stupid reason as to why he would have been running in the rain without a jacket, or shoes. "I-I uh" Sonic sputtered out in a panic, Shadow seemed to get even closer "Oh come on, I think I deserve to know after helping you out." "J-just a stupid nightmare..." Sonic muttered under his breath, hoping the other couldn't hear him, but with the ultimate life forms heightened hearing, he heard him. "Oh? What about?" Sonic looked away from Shadow desperately trying to avoid the question, Shadow just grabbed the blue hero's face gently and made him look at him. "S-seriously it's nothing, I overreacted anyway." Shadow sighed, not wanting to make the hedgehog any more uncomfortable, but still very curious about what happened. "Is it because of that pink hedgehog?" Shadow still pushed for the answer "A-Amy? W-well umm kind of, n-not really though." Sonic was extremely uncomfortable, and wanted more than anything to leave, but loved the fact that Shadow was the one with him. He didn't know why, but he loved being close to the ebony any chance he got. "What do you mean kind of, didn't you break up with her?" Shadow got closer, intensely interested in what the blue hero had to say, he couldn't remember when he started feeling like this towards the other but didn't mind very much. "Yeah I did, but if I'm being totally honest, I never really loved her-" Sonic bit his tongue feeling a wave of panic wash over him at his slip-up. "Wait, what? You never loved the girl?" Shadow got closer to where sonic was once again, making it so they were almost touching. Sonic found himself yearning for the other to get closer to him, for Shadow to touch him. The blue blur remained quiet, and the other got closer and put his hand on Sonic's thigh. "I-I don't want to talk about Amy anymore-" Sonic moved his head away so he would not have to confront the hedgehog that was so close to him. "Okay then, what would you like to talk about." Shadow took his hand that was not on the others thigh and grabbed his face with it. Sonic could feel Shadow's hot breath on his face. "I-I, u-umm-" they were making eye contact and both of them wanted this to go further as if asking for permission, Shadow stared at Sonics lips and Sonic swallowed hard. The blue hedgehog picked up his hands and placed hands on the ebony's chest. Shadow moved his face closer to the others and finally, their lips touched. Sonic made a noise of surprise and pleasure and Shadow grabbed Sonics waist and pulled him closer to him. Sonic wrapped his arms around Shadow's neck, a sign of submission, Shadow took note of that and licked the other's bottom lip, asking for entry which the hero granted.

After a while of their intense makeout-sesh, they both pulled away for air. "T-that.. was.. amazing..." Sonic said gently panting "Glad you. enjoyed.. it.." There was a moment of silence shared between the two of them, both of them were not expecting what just happened, and nor did they think something like that was even possible for the two of them.

A/N: I am so sorry this chapter took so long! I moved and started going to school again, so I had less time to write. I swear I will make up for it in the future! I hope you enjoyed this chapter anyways.
