 "Kyle? Wow. You've ...... changed."

Kyle, Dylan and I were best friends before. We three were inseperable. And yes, I was the only girl. But I wasn't a girly girl before. They both accepted me as their sister. And that's what I liked about them. They protect me when bullies come over me and trash talk me. They'd come to my defense. But Kyle was a chicken before. So Dylan had to do the job alone. But there were times when Kyle stood out for me.

The last time I saw him, he was 3 inches shorter than me. He dressed a little dorky and he wore glasses and braces. Yes, Kyle Evans used to be a nerd.

But now? Dark brown shaggy hair, perfect straight teeth, no glasses in sight, and hot boy clothes.

He has the perfect height of a boy who's good to be slow dancing with.

 A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

I lost my foot balance and slowly fell on his arms.

 "Gotcha." He laughed, holding me.

Clarisse was wagging her eyebrows. I just rolled my eyes on her.

"Yeah. I know. I've changed. And you haven't. Except for the facts that your hair grew longer, you've gotten skinny and of course, you've grown taller for the past 4 years. And prettier too" He grinned.

 I giggled.

 He's so cute, you know?

"But one thing's never changed about you." He said, scratching his chin and thinking hard.

 "And what's that?"

"Your hands, silly." He held both my hands.

 "Oh." I blushed.

"The pianist and guitarist hands." He smiled at me.

 I smiled back at him.

"Ahem." Someone coughed, getting our attention.

"Uh, HELLO?! I'm still here, aren't I?" Clarisse was a little mad but still had a trace of happiness on her face.

Kyle and I looked at each other. We burst out laughing.

"You haven't changed one bit, Clarisse Macintosh." Kyle chuckled.

"We aren't even friends, Kyle Evans!" Reese was laughing too.

"So Kyle. Why did you leave?" I asked with so much curiousity in my eyes.

We were going to the food court to have some snacks.

"Well, uh..." He stammered. He looked kind of scared to tell.

"Oh. It's okay. You don't have to tell us." I smiled at him.

"Yeah Kyle! Go on and tell us!" Reese added.

I glared at her for a moment and mouthed me, "What?"

"My dad's boss had a very big.... job offer at Ohio." He said, pausing when he said big.

"Oh. Okay." I replied as we entered the food court.

As soon as I saw Dylan's slick black hair, my heart beated a hundred times faster than the normal beating.

"Hey, isn't that Dylan Martin?" Kyle's gaze suddenly shifted to Dylan's direction.

Dylan was laughing hard with a group of boys just our age.

I froze when Dylan looked at our way and had a shock expression on his face.

He mouthed me, "Who's that standing next to you?"

"Kyle Evans. Our best friend", I mouthed back.

His jaw dropped when he looked back at Kyle.

He started to walk towards us.

"Kyle? Nerdy Kyley? Is that you bro?" Dylan's mouth formed an 'o'.

"Nerdy Kyley? What the hell?" He was suddenly mad. But then recovered back to his normal face.

"Just kidding bro. Still remember our fist bump?" Dylan smirked.

"Yeah. Why would I forget the coolest fist bump in the whole skateboard arena?"

They did their own special fist bump and roared with laughter afterwards.

 I felt invisible.

 Dylan noticed my presence.

"Oh, Kenzie. Sorry." He scratched the back of his while smiling so hard.

"Kenzie? Okay I think I missed half of my life." He crossed his arms.

"Looking good Kyle. What did you do to yourself for eight years of non-existence here in Chicago?" He smirked lightly, ignoring Kyle's reaction.

Ugh, what is with his smirks that makes my stomach flutter?

"Ah. Deleted my braces, switched to contacts, 4-hour workouts at the gym everyday and sleeping with my girlfriend early in the evening." Kyle smirked.

Why do they smirk so good?

"You have a girlfriend? What's her name?" Dylan asked.

"YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND? WHOA. I never thought you'd have one!" I was surprised.

"Gee thanks KENZIE." Kyle rolled his eyes. "I don't have a girlfriend. That was just a freakin' joke. How about you, bro? Do you have a girlfriend?" Kyle laughed.

 "Sorry." I muttered.

"Yeah. Her name's Sarah." Dylan replied.

 The time froze.

 Who's Sarah?

 No way.

"Sarah McKinley?" Kyle asked, waiting for an answer

 Dylan nodded.

"Congratulations, bro!" He smacked him in the shoulder. "So that must mean I'm the luckiest guy in the world, huh?" He wrapped his right arm around me.

 Dylan's face fell.

 "He's just kidding, Dylan."
