My Bestfriend's Dad

Lucy and Walter

"I'm going back to bed, it's almost time for your wife to wake up" she said as she got off the couch.
"You're right, I'll see you tomorrow then" he smiled and kissed her on the lips.

She walked tiptoed back to Kate's room trying not to make a single sound.When she opened the door, to her suprise Kate was wide awake, busy on her phone. She froze and wondered if Kate had heard all heavy breathing that was happening just a few minutes ago.

"Lucy? where were you?" Kate asked looking confused and very tired.

"I was going to get some water, I'm not feeling really good" she lied.

"Oh, what's wrong bess?" Kate asked worriedly.

"I don't know but I think....I think I might be...pregnant" she stuttered as she tried to think of a lie very quickly.

"WHAT!?? NO WAYS!!!" Kate exclaimed."Should we go get you a pregnancy test in the morning?" Kate asked while still being in shock that her bestfriend might be pregnant.

"I'd appreciate that hey....thanks Kate". She got on the bed a released a sigh of relief that her bestfriend did not suspect a thing. Lucy knew she was not pregnant so she would just have to take the test and pretend as if she's relieved about it.

Lucy has been bestfriends with Kate eversince they were 8 years old. Their families were also close with each other but Lucy's mother, Portia, wasn't very fond of Walter, sho is Kate's father.

There was always some kind of tension around them but they did a good job in not showing that around the other families. Lucy and Walter's relationship has always been good and to the rest of everyone, they just thought he was being a good father figure to her since she didn't know who hers was. Kate loved her father for that, because to her it felt like they were sisters. He would spoil Lucy and sometimes pay for her school trips when things were a bit rough for her mom. People who didn't know Lucy nor Walter, thought they were father and daughter, because they had similar features on their faces.
