"We're Moving"

Portia got back home to the kitchen smelling delicious. Lucy had cooked some roast veggies with sweet, salty mash potatoes and a well cooked beef stew. The smell was amazing.

"Hi mama, I cooked something for us.." Lucy said nervously. She was still uneasy about the heated conversation her mother and her had had earlier.

"It smells delicious" Portia said with a warm smile on her face trying to lesson up the tension in the room.

Lucy dished up for the both of them and they sat together in silence as they ate their tasty meal. Lucy did not know what her mother was thinking, but she was finding ways in which to tell her that she agrees on the moving plan. She did not want to automatically agree with her mother on everything, because she did really say some hurtful things to her.

"We're moving" Portia said as she poked one of the roast veggies with a fork and into her mouth it went.

"When?" Lucy asked.

"By the end of the week, we will be gone. I suggest that you start placing what you can in boxes and just leave certain things that we will no longer be needing elsewhere..." Portia said as she took another chunk of the roast veggies.

"Where are we moving too?" Lucy asked as her mother was not really giving her enough information. 

"I don't know yet, but we are and we should be ready before the time." Portia said as she now moved to the mash.

"So we're moving, but you don't know where?" Lucy asked, trying her best not to sound annoyed.

"Your questions are unnecessary at the moment. We should be asking ourselves bigger questions, like 'what's going to happen to the baby' or 'what is Thandi's plan' not when and why are we moving." Portia said as she placed her fork down on the plate because she was slowly losing her appetite. She was questioning many things about her daughter. She did not know whether she still loved her daughter or not and she was trying her best to fight it off because she did not want Walter to be the main reason of their downfall.
She loved Walter and a part of her always believed or thought that he loved her too. She was okay with Thandi being in the picture, but her own daughter? Now that felt like a competition she never knew she had. Having a relationship where the mother was jealous of the daughter, was something she never really thought would happen.

"I'm already too late for an abortion... I have no other choice." Lucy said hesitantly.

"How do you know that? Have you tried already?" Portia asked with concern with in her voice. She always thought that her daughter and her always had a close relationship, but now she sees that it was just a font of some kind.

"Yes, I tried. I'm three months already, it's too dangerous for me." Lucy said as her voice started to crack from holding back tears.

"We'll figure out everything once we have moved, for now let's focus on packing everything" Portia got up and put the plate that was still half full, on the sink. She walked up stairs and didn't look back at Lucy. She knew her daughter needed cormforting, but she just couldn't give it to her. It was as if she didn't know her anymore and neither did Lucy.

Walter got back home to Kate and Thandi watching a movie. There was some laughs here and there and he was confused.

"Oh, you're back!" Thandi said as she jumped of the couch to give Walter a hug. Walter felt uneasy, because he was now aware that everyone was aware about what's going on.

"I'm going to my room" Kate said as she stoop up from the couch and left the room without even looking at her father.

"Arg, don't pay any mind to her..you know how teenagers are..." Thandi teased as she helped unbutton her husbands hemp.

"What is this Thandi? What's this game you're playing?" Walter asked as he stared deeply into Thandi's cold eyes.

"Oh, so we should talk about it? Okay then. Please explain how the girl that practically grew up with Kate, suddenly fell pregnant with your child?" Thandi said as her eyes grew sinister, like she was the devil himself.

"She seduced me, she trapped me!" Walter said angrily. He was really good at lying and manipulating women, so he did that.

"Oh she did didn't she? I guess I'll have to teach her a little lesson then" Thandi said with a smirk on her face.

"We will end up in prison, leaving Kate with no parents, it's that what you want?" Walter asked, hoping that it'll convince Thandi to stop her coo.

"I have done it before and I will do it again." Thandi said with content in her voice. "That little bitch is carrying your child! What about Kate?! Is she truly about to have a sibling with the mother being her bestfriend!? Come on baby, you know that sounds ridiculous as i'm saying it. And how will I ever trust her around you again? I will have no such thing, but forgive me, I will have to do what I must do in order to keep my family."

"They are moving, so we basically never have to see them again. We can all forget that they ever existed, please don't do something we will all regret" Walter pleaded.

Thandi scoffed "Forget? no Walter, I will rememeber. Kate will always remember and so will you! Now, I think it's best if we eat dinner and head to bed. I do need to release after everything that has happened" she finshed.

Walter got even more angry and couldn't hold it in anymore at how thoughtless his wife can be sometimes. He does blame himself, but he does not want another life taken on behalf of him not even the life of the girl he had more fun with.
"If you do anything to Lucy, I will leave you."

"What!?" Thandi replied in shock.

"If I happen to ever find Lucy with a scar or a bruise or even dead! Then I leave you." Walter said with seriousness in his voice.

Thandi scoffed again. "Are you truly to leave me for some 16 year old? Wow! It seems your forgetting all the things I've done for you.."

"All the things you have done for me can end you in jail, if I were you, I wouldn't be to proud. I love you Thandi, but I hate your actions to things that are also my fault."

"I thought you said she seduced you..."

"I lied. Lucy and I have been having sex for as long as I can remember. Good sex, Hard sex, Fast sex and just more sex..." Walter said making sure he got his point through. He could feel Thandi's blood boiling from where he was standing. What was he planning?

"Intresting. Shall we have dinner now?" Thandi said with know emotion in her voice. She smiled and headed over to the kitchen.

Walter stood there in confusion. He knew Thandi was afraid that Walter would leave her, but something inside him also knew that it would still not stop her from doing what she had planned. Thandi was after blood and there was nothing that Walter could do about it.

"Hey, we need to talk." Kate pressed send.

Lucy was shocked to recieve her text. She never thought that Kate would even ever talk to her again.

"Yeah I know, I'm sorry about everything but I can explain." Lucy replied thoughtlessly.

"Meet me at my house tomorrow,  I'm not going to school and I'll be alone."

"I don't think that's safe." Lucy replied, unsure if it was a good idea for her to go to her arch enemy's house.

"Trust me, they won't even know you were here. Trust me." Kate replied.

Something about the way Kate was texting, gave Lucy the shivers. It's as if she knew something was off, but she also knew Kate would not hurt a fly, so she was probably acting that way because she was still upset right? Lucy thought to herself.

"Okay, i'll come there. Or you could just come here." Lucy suggested, being afraid that her place will be a setup.

"Will you be alone?" Kate asked.

"Yes."

"Okay, I'll be there." Kate replied, which gave Lucy a sigh of relief, because she knew she'd be safe at her own house.
