It's Kansas, He's Sick

3rd Person POV

iris woke up to her phone ringing and multiple calls from someone. she opened her phone and answered it to hear someone sniffling. she shot up in her bed as she looked around and sighed

"hello?" she asked and she heard the person sniffle again

"iris" someone said and she heard the voice of her old best friend back in la

"Flynn, hey whats going on? whats happening?" she asked and she looked around as she noticed zoe standing in the door way

"its kansas, he's sick" was all flynn could say before iris felt the blood rush to her head. she felt the tears start to fall down her face but she didn't do anything about it. she couldn't, In this very moment all she felt was pain

"iris" flynn tried but iris ended the call as zoe ran forward and wrapped her arms around iris as she sobbed loudly. she held onto zoes arms as she cried and cried. she felt pain and it was like nonbefore

"whats wrong?" zoe asked fastly and in fear but iris shook her head as she cried into her shoulder and didn't stop

"its kansas, he's sick" she whimpered as she cried harder and zoe held her close. they heard zoes phone ring but they didn't pick it up. all iris needed was to be held and to be told that it would be okay even if it wouldn't be.

" do you want to go to the stables?" zoe whispered and iris shook her head

"i don't think i can handle seeing any horses today zo. you can go without me, i just want to stay here and be alone" she spoke and zoe nodded as she rubbed her arms and got up. she kissed iris's forehead before she left the room and closed the door. iris pulled out the notebook and looked at any drawings of Kansas or any songs to do with him. she got up out of bed as she walked over to the piano and she started to play the song.

"Ya never see clearly, til ya stop cryin

I never found it, until I stopped tryin
I stumbled upon ya and fell thru the ceiling tiles
I started a fire, to smoke out my treasons
I tore down a building, to pick up the pieces
And now on a clear glass wall, I can see our fate
But it's a little too late" she sang as she looked around her room and to the picture of Kansas on the des

"Oh If you're hearin this
I musta made it through
Oh when the clouds above open up through my window
I'll see the sky's still blue

Ya never hold onto, what we believe in
I think I've lost ya, tell me I'm dreamin
Why do we wait to live, til we begin to die" she sang as tears drifted down her face and she sniffled

"I made the incision, I begged and I borrowed
I traded my vision, for heartache and sorrow
But now that I've found my sight
I finally realize, I was born to go blind

Oh If you're hearin this
I musta made it through
Oh when the clouds above open up through my window
I'll see the sky's still blue" she heard something hit her window and she opened it to see pin standing there waiting for her

"come down" he called and she shook her head as she sighed and wiped the tears from her face and he noticed

"not today pin I'm sorry" she called down and he nodded as he looked at the lattice that was coming down from her window

"then ill come up" he said and he climbed up and into her room

"whats going on?" he asked and she watched in shock before she sighed and got up from her chair. she fell back onto the bed and pulled him down with her

"kansas, he's sick pin and i cant help him. i feel so helpless and i don't know if me going to this dance will help anything" she sighed and he nodded

"it'll help you get your mind off of him shortly. just think about it iris, i hope ill see you there" he exclaimed and she smiled at him as he got up and climbed down out of her window. she looked around and then she opened her closet to see a dress hanging up , she ran her hand over it and smiled as she pulled it out out of the closet and nodded

"its just a dance iris you'll be fine, take your mind of Kansas for one night. he'll be fine, he's a strong horse" she told herself and she closed her bedroom door as she went and put the dress on. she stood in front of her mirror as she smoothed her hands over her dress and stared at herself, she was comfortable but she felt silly and not herself. she wasn't happy , she heard a knock on her door and she opened it to see zoe and jade waiting. jade immediately wrapped her arms around her and iris sighed as she hugged her closely and took a deep breathe

"zoe told me what happened, are you okay to come to the dance?" jade asked and iris nodded

"ill be okay" she said and she noticed the time. she looked at the girls and sighed as she lifted her phone and showed them the time

"we should go" she spoke and they all nodded as they left the house. iris walked to the stables as zoe and jade separated from her. she walked into the barn to see rosie with the others. she heard the rain from outside and sighed

the world knew what she was feeling, she was hurting and the world wanted to compinsate for her. she looked at Marcus and he walked forward as he wrapped his arms around her and she hugged him too

"we all heard what happened, I'm sorry iris" he said and she smiled at him thankfully

"thank you marcus" she stated and she turned her head to see pin walking in with mia and she scoffed. she was going to go with him originally but it clearly didn't happen and she was hurt but her attention was turned to Marcus by him

"dance with me?" he asked and he held out his hand and she smiled as she grabbed it and smiled

" i would love to" she said back and she smiled at him as he led her out to the dance floor and they danced together until pin wrapped his hand around iris's wrist and led her out of the barn. she pulled her wrist away as she looked at pin

"what is this about pin? i was having fun, why cant you accept that?" she asked and he scoffed

"yeah of course mr.perfect is waiting for you inside, just go" he said and she scoffed

"fine i will" she spoke before she heard a horse neigh and she ran to bullets stall to see him gone

"NO NO NO NO NO" she cried out , she was already losing one horse. she couldn't lose him too, wasn't that enough for her?
