Prologue:

If you saw 15 year old Michael Todd on the streets, you wouldn't see anything out of the ordinary, tall, black , short hair, average build, and usually wore black. He wasn't known for being a sad person, in fact, he always seemed significantly happy. He made great grades in school, all his teachers loved him, and his peers respected and adored him.

No one but his Best friend Jessica Porter would ever notice when something was troubling him. She knew Michael more than anyone, even his own parents, they were too focused on fighting with each other to get to know him.

When Michael suddenly decides to take his own life, his friends and family are shocked, confused, and just broken.

No one knows why Michael did it.

But his friends are determined on finding the reason behind his actions.

CHAPTER ONE:

It's been a week and three days since 15 year old Michael Todd took his own life, and as Michaels old friend, Jessica, sits across the street from the house he used to live in, she can't help but to bury her face in her hands and sob. Jessica was Michaels Best friend, They'd been neighbors for almost six years, they were as close as two people could be.

She is constantly reminded of the whole thing by flashbacks of When she and Michaels other neighbor, Susan McLain, discovered him in his room. He was laying in a pool of blood, still holding a tight grip on his fathers 9mm Pistol in his right hand, and a blood spattered note in his left, the girls instantly fell down down to their knees in a state of shock, unable to move or breathe.

When the police and Michaels parents arrive, the whole area is squared off with yellow police tape.

The whole scene sends shocks of terror deep into the bones of Jessica and Susan as they watch from across the street, unable to control their tears, they struggle to get the image of Michaels lifeless eyes out of their head. After several hours of mourning, Susan decides to go home, Jessica does the same, Neither get any sleep that night.

For the next week Jessica refuses to go to school, eat, or even come out of her room. As she lays face first into a damp pillow, her mind is consumed by one question. Why did he do it? There were many questions to be answered, But this one kept her up every night since Michaels death, she had to find the answer, She had to. She would never sleep again until she found it.

CHAPTER TWO:

As thoughts fly through her head, she hears a knock on her bedroom door. "Go away," She said, "I don't want to see anyone."

Then a soft voice forms a sentence outside of Jessica's locked door, "It's me, Matthew. I have to talk to you," He says. "It's been eight days, Jessica, it's time to talk to someone."

She wipes away her tears as she stands up and starts toward the door.

When she opens it, a very bright and brilliantly dressed Matthew Maklezow gives Jessica a half smile and walks in, they both sit down on her bed, "What do you want?" She begins.

"I want you to come back to this world, you've been locked in your room for over a week.

That's not healthy." Says Matthew firmly, "Come outside with me, get some fresh air."

Jessica looks up at Matthew and then turns her head toward her bedroom window, Matthew looks also, he sees the house Michael lived in across the street. The house he Killed himself in.

Jessica looks back at Matthew, gives him a tired look and says, "I don't think that's a good idea,

Please, Give me a few more days.

I just want to be alone right now."

Matthew Nods his head and wordlessly stands up and starts toward the door, as he walks away Jessica looks over at her tear-filled pillow and says to Matthew, "Stop."

Matthew turns and looks at her,

"Do you have any idea why Michael would do such a thing?

I mean, it just, doesn't make any sense to me."

Matthew ponders over different answers for a second, but is left just as curious as Jessica.

"I don't know, Jess, but I'm sure he left some kind of evidence toward his reason for suicide. I mean, wouldn't you?"

Jessica doesn't say anything.

Matthew walks out the door. after thinking about it more, Jessica remembers the bloody Note Michael had in his hands when his body was found, she knew she'd have to get that note. if the police didn't take it for forensics, that is.

She would go look around for next time she got the chance.

For now, she will live in her room with her thoughts.
