CHAPTER SEVEN:

Jessica and Susan knew what they had to do, they had to find this Katelyn Thompson person and get the evidence they needed to prove she killed Michael. They had no idea where Katelyn was, but they were going to find her, The first step was to find out more about her. As teenagers the Internet was naturally the first place they looked, fortunately, they were right to use it.

They looked up the escaped convict, and found out the last place she was seen was in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, less than seventy miles away. They knew their parents wouldn't approve of them chasing a killer, so they came to an agreement, they would run away, hitch as many rides as they could to get to Poplar Bluff, and search for Katelyn. They would leave that night, Jessica packed just one outfit, In case they had to stay somewhere overnight, and a small pocket knife Michael had given her when they were ten. Susan packed a map, an outfit, and some Mace.

They met in front of their school,

"Are you ready?" Asked Jessica,

"As ready as I'll ever be.."

Replies Susan, "Lets try to find a ride."

They stand on the side of the highway for three hours before someone is willing to take them as far as Poplar Bluff, they climb into the car and thank the woman for letting them ride along with her, and wait for the trip to come to an end.

CHAPTER EIGHT:

After about half an hour of small talk with the kind driver, she drops them off at a Gas station and says, "When you two are done doing whatever your doing, Come find me here and I'll be happy to take ya'll back."

Jessica said thanks and they walked away to begin their search. All they know is Katelyn's somewhere in this town, and she recently lived at 700 Sutton Dr.

That would be the first place they looked. Susan took out her map and began searching for Sutton Dr.

Once she found it, it took them an hour to walk there, once there they saw that it was empty, no lights on, no vehicles, no evidence of life anywhere. Disappointed, they looked at their list of other possible places she may be, their sources told her she likes to hang out in and around Wal-Mart, Hucks, McDonalds, Kerr's, and Aldi's.

they were closer to Hucks than either of the other places, so they searched there first. They asked around and no one had heard of Katelyn Thompson, they progressed down the list of places Katelyn is likely to be, they search Aldi's, then Wal-Mart, then McDonald's, Then Kerr's, the gas station next to where they were dropped off. With no sign of the suspected killer, they begin towards the place they were dropped of at and see the driver sitting in the gas station drinking Coffee, she notices them standing there and says, "Done yet?"

They both nod and start toward the car that brung them here. The driver follows, they get into the car and the women asks, "So what was it ya'll were looking for this late at night?"

"We were looking for a person," Jessica explains, "It's kinda... Important."

The women stares blankly at the girls and begins to drive, "Well who the hell is it? I may know 'em, I live here, ya know?"

Jessica pauses, debating wether or not to bother telling the stranger about their search,

Then Susan starts, "Were looking for a woman, a woman named Katelyn Thompson, we need... To talk to her. "

The woman looks surprised, "Well, my names Katelyn Thompson, what can I help you with?"
