The CEO's New Assistant

Chapter 1 (Interview Day Pt.1)

 No one's Pov

Asta twist and turned in his sleep as his phone alarm goes off. Lazily putting his hand out from under his covers, he reached for his phone to dismiss the alarm. Still half asleep he looked at the screen to see the time.

"Oh, it's just 7:30...." he groaned as he slowly started to drift off to sleep again.

*cricket noises* 
The room went quiet for a few seconds before Asta suddenly jumped up. Fully awake, he swiftly grabbed his phone again and looked at the screen.

"SHIT!!!" He yelled as he threw his phone down and got up. "IT'S 7:30, I'M GONNA BE LATE!!!!" And he ran to the bathroom

*10 Minutes later*

Asta's Pov

I just finished washing up and fixing my hair. 'Ughhhhh, I can't believe I slept for so longggg.' I groaned to myself as I look into the bathroom mirror. 'Now I only have exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there before the interview starts.' 

With that in mind, I dash through the bathroom door, back into my room so I can get dressed. Finally, I chose a white T-Shirt, a pair of black cargo pants and my favorite black coat with grey fur on the hood, then I looked into the mirror.

'I really need to get some new clothes.' I sighed as I looked at how plain my outfit is.

After ensuring that I have all the necessary things I'll need in my bag, I grabbed my phone and looked at the time again. 
"It's almost 8 o'clock, I should really get going now." I exclaimed, taking up my bag and keys, then rushing downstairs to the living room. Once there I put on my shoes and headed out. 'I think I'll just stop at one of the stalls on my way there.'  I thought to myself turning the key in the door as my stomach started growling. "Sigh...."

*Time Skip-At the Golden Dawn Industry*

After stopping at a stall that sold some creepy, yet delicious, looking eels, I ran all the way here and now currently out of breath. Gasping for air, I looked at my phone and saw that I made it with 5 minutes to spare. 'It's a good thing that I can run fast' thinking to myself. I sat in one of the chairs, trying to catch my breath and calm down. Looking around I can see people hurrying all over the place trying to get their works done. I'm honestly starting to feel a bit nervous now but I won't let that stop me.

Just then, a lady with silverish white hair, holding a folder with some paper and a pen in her arms, walked up to me.
"Are you Mr. Asta?" She asked stopping right in front of me.
"Yeah, That's me, Nice to meet yo-" I stated smiling, putting out my hand to shake hers until she interrupted me.
"Mm, if you could please follow me," She said, looking at my clothes then at my face. "I'll be accompanying you to the boss' office." She turned and started to walk back the way in which she came.
"Ok, got it" I said, following her lead. 'Do I have something on my shirt?" I thought as I searched my top thoroughly behind her.

We walked pass a bunch of rooms with people either sitting around desks with computers or in a meeting, before we got to the elevator. Once the doors opened, we got inside and she pressed the button for the fifth floor and then the elevator doors closed again. The lady hasn't said a word or glanced at me since we started walking. 'This is so awkward, the entire walk here was too quiet.' I thought glancing at the back of her head

"Soo.." I started, eager to break the silence. "What's your name miss?" 
I heard her sigh, then she turned her head facing me. 
"I'm Noelle Silva, the receptionist here." She said briefly, "Now then, I'd love if you'd refrain from speaking to me" she finished, turning around signifying that that's the end of the conversation.
"um, y-yeah sure" I stammered, feeling a bit embarrassed. 'Not the friendly type I see, got it.'

At this time, the elevator reached the fifth floor and the doors opened. "We are almost at his office now" She said, walking away and I followed her. We left the elevator and passed a few more rooms before finally stopping at a door with CEO's Office on it. 'I guess we're here now' I thought, staring at the door.

"Here we are sir, I do wish you good luck on your interview," she said smiling " You're gonna need it."

"Wow," I said, honestly thinking she wasn't so bad after all, "And here I thought you were actually a nice young lady, thanks anyways" I smiled at her as she frowned at my comment and turned to walk away. "Just knock twice and wait for him to tell you to enter" 

She then started to walk away, leaving me standing at the door alone. Looking at the door, the nerve-racking feeling from earlier started to seep in again and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, I calm myself down and get ready to knock the door.

"Let's do this!"
