Bill and Richie wait as Ben, Stanley and Eddie join them. "What's going on?" Stanley questions as everyone was called into an emergency that morning. "Bev called. She's freaked out about something... Sh-sh-she told us to wait out here until-" Beverly bursts out of the Apartment Building. "You made it. I need to show you guys something..." Everyone stands still as Del walks closer to the girl curious. "What is it?" "Did we just win the Publishers Clearing house ten million dollar sweepstakes? If Ed McMahon is in there I'm to going to lose my sh-" Richie goes on about till he's cut off by Bev.
"I just need to know I'm not crazy. But my Dad will kill me if he finds out I had boys in our apartment." She says sheepishly. "We'll leave a lookout. Richie?" Everyone turns to the boy, who always is on lookout because of his trash mouth sighs. "Yeah, whatever. Ed McMahon can wait." Bill, Stanley, Ben, Del and Eddie go with Beverly. Beverly opens the door, afternoon sunlight illuminates floating dust motes as Bill, Ben, Stanley and Eddie follow her to the closed bathroom door. "In there." Stanley looks at everyone as Delvina walks forward "What are we about to walk into?" Stan questions, wanting to stay outside with Richie.
"You'll see." She has no intention of going in. Bill pushes past Ben and Delvina opens the door. "Oh God. Oh God." Eddie says scrambling to get his inhaler from his fanny pack. All the blood. Still there, faded into maroon clouds on the mirror and wallpaper. Eddie reels back into the hallway with Beverly. She looks from Ben to Bill who nod. "You see it?" Del is shook and walk further into the bathroom. "What happened?" Beverly is so relieved she almost cries. "The sink. It came out from there. My Dad couldn't see it. I thought I was going crazy." She says letting out a small chuckle.
"You're not going crazy. I saw something too." Bill says. "You did?" He nods looking at Del. "Georgie." A confused Eddie replies quickly. "Like a ghost?" "N-no. He tried to get me to go into the basement with him. It wasn't just him either. I saw this other... I don't know." Del looks at Bill knowing that the wet carpet and floor from the night before came from that. "What'd you see, Bill?" "The clown, right?" Eddie asks, guessing waiting for a response.
Bill doesn't say anything. Which says it all. Eddie starts to hyperventilate, and everyone looks over at him. "You okay, Eddie?" Bev asks, and Del walks over to grab her spare in his pouch because she knows what's gonna come next if she doesn't."Go outside. Keep Richie company, okay?"
Eddie just nods and walks out the door. "We can't leave it like this." Del says after taking a whiff of air. Bill, Stanley, Ben, Delvina and Beverly clean like grim elves, using a bucket of hot water, ajax, and some cloth rags. Slowly the blood washes out. Reaching for the same rag, Bill and Del's hands touch, a spark between them. Eddie and Richie stand lookout on the curb below. Eddie still disturbed by what he saw. "So much blood..."While Ben, Bev and Stan carry out trash bags of soaked towels, Bill and Del pour the last bucket of pink water down the bathtub drain. The bathroom now as clean as it ever was, a bucket filled with blood stained rags. "It." Del says looking at everything. "Huh?" "That thing that took me and everyone, it's not done. Not yet." He turns on the faucet to flush out the sink. They watch the water cyclone around the drain. Hoping the awkwardness will get flushed away too...
"I'm sorry for lashing out the other day, i don't i guess i'm just-" "Scared. We know, you were taken by a clown that, kills kids. W-were all here for you." Del smiles. Relieved, she shuts off the water. "Thanks, Bill. For everything."
The boy smiles, with them becoming a little closer from this. "It's no problem Del. You my b-b-best friend." She smiles at him and they both walk out the bathroom and downstairs to the rest of the group.Reflection of the Losers' ripple away as they push their bikes through a puddle, walking along the stretch of Kansas Street that borders the Barrens. Beverly looks over at Bill, his brow furrowed. Like he's trying to solve a complicated math problem in his head. "What is it, Bill?" She asks causing everyone to stop and turn to him, including Del. "All that blood at your place, and you s-say your folks didn't see any of it... Last night at my house, with Georgie and the water, my Dad just acted like everything was normal... I think if you're a grown up..." Del gulps, knowing what she has to say. "They can't see It." She says shakily, gaining a few looks. "Can't see what?" "It." Bev says while everyone looks to her.
"That's why the cops won't help, our
parents, teachers..." They stop. Because up ahead they see Victors trans AM, parked on the side of the road. "We should-" Del notices something in the bushes near the car. She walks up to it and finds a meat basket with very little meat inside. "Wait." Bill says. "Guys, this is Mikes bike!" Del exclaims from the bush."We have to help him." "We do?" Richie says is a cocky tone. "If we don't, who will? That could
be any one of us."Mike gets kicked in the head. Pushed to the brink, he forgets what the fuck he just saw, was that actually a clown? He grabs a fistful of meat and whips it up at Travis and his boys, covering them in blood and ribbons of lamb and beef.
Mike tries to scramble away but Belch hooks him by the collar, and throws him back down into the gravel. Travis jumps on top, grabbing a handful of gravel and just as he's about to hit Mike, Travis gets hit HARD in the face with a rock. Attention snaps over to the Losers, standing like saviors."Holy shit." Richie says in disbelief. Surprised, Stanley manages to get out, "Nice throw." "Thanks. But don't act so surprised." Delvina looks to the poor boy, and runs across the river to help him up. She falls along the way and picks herself back up. She gets to the boy and hear Bill yell, "RUN!" Mike uses the second of distraction to push off of Travis and get back onto his feet. He races over to join the Losers' with Del helping him along the way. "ROCK WAR!" Richie yells just before getting hit in the head with a rock.
Loser's pick up more rocks, and start whipping 'em at Travis, Victor, Patrick, and Snatch.
The Bowers Gang returns fire. Everybody ducks for cover, trying not to get hit. It's a brutal battle. Eventually, Delvina gets pissed off and throws a rock directly at Travis, hitting him in the head. Eventually she yells, "ID RUN IF I WERE YOU!" They do. And don't stop until they're safe. Everyone else walks up the way they came from, as Del assess Mikes wounds behind everyone else. They fall far behind just before reaching the street, and they hear a rustle in the grass. She flinched, and they both run back up to the rest of the group. Mike turns to the group, and looks directly at Del. "Thanks but you shouldn't have done that. He'll be after you now too." Everyone lets out a small chuckle. "Travis? He's always after us." Eddie says. Bill looks down, and smiles to himself. "I-I guess that's one thing we all have in common." He says, making Richie smile and look at Mike. "Yeah, Homeschool. Welcome to the Losers Club."
The Town prepares for a celebration. Red, White and Blue Banners, Fireworks For Sale Signs, A Brass Band rehearsal. "I was thinking about It. Ironworks explosion in 1904. Bradley Gang in '32. The Black Spot in '59. And now with Georgie, Maple and the rest... It seems like this bad stuff happens nearly every 27 years." Ben says while he walks with Stan, Eddie, Richie, Mike and Bev. They find a seat at a park bench by the Paul Bunyan Statue.
"So what -- this town is cursed?" Stan questions as Bill and Delvina purchase ice cream. "That's what my grandfather
thinks..." All eyes turn onto Mike. "You guys know what a haunt is?" He questions, causing Richie to chuckle. "You mean like in a 'who-ya-gonna-call' sense?" He says to getting the memo as he doesn't pay attention in school. They went over this in history multiple times before Del disappeared, everyone knows she'd remember."No, not like that... A haunt can also mean like a feeding ground for animals... Or for something else... My grandfather told me he thinks all the bad things that happen in this town are caused by one thing... An evil thing... that feeds off the people of Derry." The groups eyes go wide before Del and Bill return, just listening to the convo. "But It can't be one thing. We're all seeing something different?" Stan asks, and the two catch on quickly. "Yeah, but I think it's because It uses our worst fears to scare us." Mike says, and Bill instantly replies before Del can.
"I guess that's why I'm seeing Georgie." "I saw a walking infection. What'd you see, Mike? Anything?" "Hands. Lots of hands, melted
together by fire..." Rjchie gasps in shock and investment. "Oh my God. That. Sounds. Awesome." Del shakes her head at him, and looks over to Stan, Ben, and Bev. "My dad." Bev says looking at the ground, and sympathetic Delvina walks over to her side. "Paintings, i know it's stupid but something about them set me off." Stan says, and Ben shrugs not being sure of what he's scared of. He scared of many things, but doesn't have a biggest fear."Well, what are you two afraid of?" I'm sync, Richie and Del sigh. "Clowns." Richie says, and Del gulps, unsure of their reaction. "Loosing you guys."
