" The pups are coming!" Snow shouted. All the resting mothers around her woke up, and they stood to go get their healer, Wind. After a few moments Wind was at the entrance to the nursery with their leader, Frostbite. Excitement burst through Snow pack. Wind rushed to the new mother. Everyone knew this day would come, and everyone feared it, especially Hawkeye, the father. Births in Snow pack were very dangerous, because of the cold temperatures, and the desperately hungry creatures that came down from the mountains. But when Snow was born, there was a shortage in hunters, and she was born prematurely, so she couldn't hunt very well because her paws weren't fully developed. But the young she-wolf was determined, she and Hawkeye were going to have their first litter of pups, and Hawkeye couldn't of been happier.
The delivery was long and painful, for Snow and Hawkeye. She had two pups, one gray like it's mother, and one brown, like the father. But Wind knew that Snow had used all her energy. Snow passed soon after giving birth. The whole pack was saddened by her passing. She was brave, no doubt, but most wolves were relieved, if she had made it, she would of experienced pain the whole rest of her life.
Brownfeather, Mountain pack's Apex Hunter, ( and Apex Hunter is the strongest Hunter, and if the leader has no kin, the apex Hunter becomes leader, and his family becomes the alphas), to deliver the pups of Russet and Sky. The only flaw in their plan now what that Snow knew the extra pups from Mountain pack were coming, and she had died with the secret. And the whole pack knew she only had two pups, so Frostbite, Wind, and Russet decided to switch the pups. They would take the brown one back to Sky in Mountain pack, and replace it with the black pup, from Mountain pack, and Brownfeather would take the other pup to Wild pack, and exchange them there too if they needed to. The next task was to figure out which mother would nurse the pups of Snow. There were two other mothers there, Sunrise, bearing one pup, and Crescent, bearing two. Sunrise volunteered to raise the pups as her own. The pack was at peace once more. The pups were exchanged, and Brownfeather took one of Snow's pups back to Sky.
Sunrise named the grey one, Snow's original pup Asher (female), and named the black one, the exchange, Deliver, (female) . The pack was surprised by the name of Deliver, but Sunrise was known for her strange activities in the pack, like collecting sticks and bugs, and keeping them. Sunrise had no idea so the exchange between pups, so life went on. And Sky's other pup was brought to Wild pack, and given to the mother, Night, who already had two pups but took everyone that she had found her third by the border. Life went on as normal, but they was one problem. When Half Moon had passed, she didn't have an Omega (a pup older than six months that she trained to be healer) so Mountain pack was left without a Healer. The Apex Hunter was required to know the basics of being a Healer for just the occasion. But Moon pack had to have made a pack member be born with the interests to help wolves, and must believe in Moon pack. There had been no wolves to replace her, so Mountain Pack was left, hoping there were no upcoming battles in their future.
