After several hours of journeying, the vehicle halted and we were all allowed to come out. The only thing we could see were big old ships around us, some women who were holding sewn garments, and a blazing fire with rods inside it. The women clothed us with the garments while some of the men gave us numbers in form of tattoos. The numbers were given with the already heated rods on our arms, it counted in this format: D1, D2, D3, D4...down to the last number, my number was D32 and it's still on my skin till today. The letter "D" represented "Donor".
************************************ Even the mightiest men among us could not stand the pain from the heated rod stamped on our arms. After the numbering, we were led into one of the ships and we sailed off the border of Nigeria to where we knew not.
As we sailed, I kept weeping 'cause I felt like I had lost you till eternity, all hopes were gone and it was like death had surfaced already. The only thing that kept me going were those memories I had of you, they were like ecstasy and mood boosters. I kept remembering how we used to have fun at the Lagos lagoon, the sea we sailed on reminded me of the beautiful beach. I also remembered those beautiful smiles of yours that glowed like an early morning sunshine, the soft touchs you massaged me, even the day I visited your family, the entertainment was like home. Shouldn't I just start thanking you till the end of this letter?? 'cause you were so good to me even when your friends rejected me. I'm sorry I hurted you alot, especially when I asked you to abort the pregnancy you had for me, I feel miserable right now though it wasn't fully my fault. I asked you to carry out the abortion because it was a blasphemy in my hometown for a man to impregnate a lady and the penalty was death for the lady who was so cheap to let a man have her when he hasn't payed the bride price. I never wanted to loose you so I asked you to do so, but thank God you didn't heed to my idea, I'm not worthy to be the father of your child but please let me be called his step-father at least. You ain't the only one going through pains right now, my heart aches like it is on fire, I just wanna be close to you again.
We sailed on sea for over thirty days until we arrived at a place I later knew to be "The place of no laws", we were transferred to a large hall where we met other captives. We were given good foods and treated well, but our movement was restricted. We were treated well because the organ dealers needed healthy organs, we were sold to these organ dealers one by one until one day, an Emperor came to buy slaves.
