Estella sat in her room, looking out of the window. She say the little neighbor kids playing some kids on their front yard that involved and oval like brown ball. She sighed, and watched with anticipation. She didn't know what they were playing, or how the game worked but the children looked delighted. Just then a small looking girl walked over to them. The boys stopped playing and looked at her with an expression of anger? Or was it disgust? She couldn't tell, but the didn't look as filled with Joy as they did before.

They looks almost as if they were mad at the little girl, the boys opened there mouths, and the little girl cowered backwards. Estella felt her blood start to boil. Were they hurting that little girl?Because she wanted to play with them!? That's so cruel! Thats so unfair, just because she's a bit smaller, and looks like she can't defend herself, they take it upon themselves to make feel bad about herself?

"Stella?" She heard a woman's voice call. She stopped looking at the children, and let go of her blinds. She stood up. "Yes, mother?" She asked? The woman hurriedly walked into the room. "Stella I smelt burning!? Are you alr- STELLA!?" Her mother screamed from behind her. "Yes? Mother." She said. Her mother pushed her way passed her and started blowing at the blinds. She'd accidentally had another little accident. "You set something on fire! Again!" Her mother said, this time her voice calmer, but still shaky. "I'm sorry mother, its just those children across the street; They were bullying the little girl across the street!" She cried. " Estelle, thats not a proper reason to nearly kill us all." Her mother said, sternly. Her mother held her had and took her to her bathroom mirror. "Look at you Stelle, just look at you." Her mother said in a hushed voice. "Because you're..." She paused, "Different, we don't know how you work, what to do with you." Estella looked at herself in the mirror and touched her hair. She had breast-length bright pink hair, with pink eyes and antennae. She had shamrock green skin, with antennae that changed colour. He whole "family" had come to the conclusion that it changed colour depending on how she felt.

Estelle touched her hair and let out a deep pained sigh. "Mother, why am I like this? Why can't I look normal, like you and everyone else?" She asked, her voice breaking. Her antennae began to burn a murky dark blue. "We don't know Stella, we've tried, countless times to figure it out, but we just can't." She looked up at her mother. "Why can't you just turn me into your lab, I know they'd be able to help!" She cried to her mother. "Stella absolutely not. You may think now that they'd try to help you, try to heal you, but in reality, they'd just hurt you." Her mother said in a calm tone. Estella stood from her chair. "How do you know that!?" She asked, her voice shaky. "Stelle, because you're not normal, they'd just take you and stick with pins and needles, until they've done any and everything they can do with you! It's not worth it Stelle. You'll just get hurt." Her mother said, looking at the ground.

Estella just huffed past her mother to the living room. She heard her mother call for her, but she just ignored it. Why won't they just help me? I bet she doesn't even know what she's talking about. I just want to be a normal kid, and live a normal life. Estella just sat on the couch sulking for hours, until she heard her mothers footsteps. "Stelle, what you said got me thinking. I'm not at all excited by the idea that you should do this, but you're getting older, and I'm sure you're very cautious." She paused on the last word and looked at her.

"I think, it's time, I finally let you go...outside." Before Estelle could jump with delight and joy, she stopped her. "But! Just to get the mail. I'm not going to let you wander this who town and city before you're truly ready, they're some crazy people in this world, hell, some crazy people in out neighborhood, but I want to do what I can to keep you safe." Estella nodded. "Yes mother, Yes! I'm ready, I'm so ready!!" She screamed. She'd been cooped up in that house for 15 years, she would do whatever should could to get out, even if it was just to get the mail.

Estella raced upstairs and put on a black hoodie and sweat pants that covered her whole body. She couldn't risk anyone seeing her skin,  antennae or hair. She put on shades, and a black mask. She the pulled up her hood, and tucked her hair inside. She slowly walked down the stairs, and looked at her mother. "I'm ready to go mother. I'm covered head to toe, nobody will see my skin." Her mother looked at the ground and hesitated. "Please mother, this will mean so much to me. Just to feel one small ray of sunshine." She pleaded. Her mother sighed and nodded at her. She ran down the stairs and jumped on her mother. "Thank you so mummy! This means so much to me! I love you" Her mother froze for a minute, embraced with her daughter. She stared at her and hugged her back, with tears in her eyes. "I-I love you too..." She said with joy in her in her voice.

Her mother unlocked the door. Estella hesitated to step outside. She heard the chirp of the birds, laughter of the children. "It's okay Estella, nothing out there can hurt you." She said. "Well except for rowdy kids, or bee's, or mosquitos." Her mother said tapping her foot. It was tick she had when she got nervous. She giggled, "It'll okay mom," Estella said, taking her first step outside. She took a breath of fresh air and smiled. She had never felt so... happy. She walked slowly over to the mailbox, savoring every breath of fresh air. She finally approached the mailbox and opened it, she grabbed her mail, and closed it. Just then she'd heard a voice yell, "WATCH OUT!" She didn't have enough time to react, and felt someone crash into her. She fell to the ground dropping all her mail, and also heard the crash of someone. She rubbed her head and opened her eyes. "Ow, what the hell?" She said, mumbling. She saw a young boy sitting in front of her, his cheeks some shade of light rose. His mouth hung open in awe. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She hissed, just then, she couldn't feel anything on her head anymore. She frantically reached for her hood, but all she felt was her hair. She gasped loudly reached for the mail and ran towards her house. "Wait!? Hold on!? What just happened!?" She heard the boy yell from outside. Estella frantically closed to door and locked and stood up against it. She slid down onto the floor. She grasped her eyes and covered them. She tried to calm her breathing but nothing was working.

He knew, the boy. Sure, he probably thought he hallucinated, but he saw, he saw everything, the hair, the eyes, the antennae. He knew. He saw everything...
