"Well, tell me something about yourself" He asked as he began to drive

I scoffed, "Um, I love reading and writing"

"Favourite read?"He asked

"Wuthering Heights"

"What do you write?"

"It's so dumb, but ever since I could remember I've been writing journals. But I guess I lost my passion ever since my parents died last year"

I looked out of the window and up to the sky. I don't believe in mystical fairytales or otherworldly things. When life ends... there is nothing after. I would love to be proved wrong, but there is no proof.

"I'm sorry," He said

"It's alright. What about you? Why did you decide to leave a wonderful private school and come to our school?" This has been a question I've been wanting to know from the beginning.

"Family issues. I was too far, so I decided to move back home"

"I'm so sorry" I instantly felt so retarded to have asked

"Don't worry" He reassured, yet I still felt dumb

"So, does your family originate in Italy? De Luca- that sounds like an Italian last name"

He laughed lightly, "Yes, we do originate from there, but I was born and raised here."

"Must've been cool" I said

We talked so much that I didn't realize we were already at school. I could already see the staring. I grabbed my bag from the back seat and looked at him.

"Thank you, for the ride"

"No problem."

"Want to talk some more over lunch? I have a free period- we can talk then if you want"

"That'll be great," He said as he smiled.

"Great, and thanks again," I said as I got out.

When I left his car, mostly everyone was staring. Ooo, the prodigal student got a ride in the mysterious guy's car. I spot my friends waiting at the bench, and they were talking as they were staring at me.

"My friends are waiting for me, so I'm just going to go"

"See you around"

I began walking off, but then halted and turned around.

"Why don't you come with me? I can introduce you" I suggested

He smiled but sighed, "Maybe another time? I have to get to one of my classes early"

"Okay. See you around" I walked off and met with my friends.

I stood with them and they just stared at me. Charlie looked suspicious and probably angry. And Amelia looked excited.

"What were you doing with Gabriel?" Charlie asked

"He offered me a ride to school, and can you take a look at the sky? It's going to rain" I said. Today definitely wasn't the best day to walk.

"I can drive you back home later" Amelia offered

"That'll be great, thanks," I said, then the bell bang to ring.

"Let's go"

We walked off to class and began the last day of the week before the weekend. English was dreadful. I'm just glad next month we graduate. I want to leave high school already, and just start college. Not that I don't have the grades to leave this town and apply to a university away from here, it's just- I don't want to leave home. I know this town has some bad crime activity, but it's home. I spent eighteen years of my life here, and I'm just not ready to leave it. Half the day passed, and now it was time for P.E, but since it was raining, we got a free period. I went to the school library and went to the farthest bookshelf where the good books were. I saw another person there and I recognized who it was by their outfit. I stood beside the shelf and smiled.

"What are you reading Mr. De Luca?"

"Why, hello there Ms. Matthews. I am reading Macbeth" He triumphed

I giggled, "Shakesphere fan?"

"Yes, I am"

"Interesting. So far that's the only thing I know about you except your family is from Italy"

"Mysterious is my middle name" He laughed

My phone began ringing and I quickly answered. I mouthed one minute to Gabriel and I walked out of the library.

"Amelia, why are you calling? Aren't you in school?"

"No, I had to return home. I have to watch my brother. Are you able to find another person to drive you home?" She asked, I can't get upset. Her brother is only three after all.

"Yeah, I'll ask my uncle. I got to go, okay?"

"Okay, bye," She said then hung up.

I returned to Gabriel after taking a book from the shelf. I sat down beside him.

"Want some company?" I asked and smiled.

"I would love some" He smiled.

I opened the book and slid my finger on the page, causing a paper cut.

"Damn it" I shook my hand. Why does a paper cut sting instantly?

"You should- Go take care of that" Gabriel started acting weird and turned away

"It's just a cut. It'll stop bleeding" I looked out the window and his face in the reflection was...different.

"What's wrong with your face?" I asked.

He got up and walked out. I sat there in shock and disbelief. I know people who don't like blood, but that was a bit overdramatic. I checked out the book and went to the yard and looked for Gabriel's car, but didn't find it. All that crossed my mind is What the hell?
