7 TIPS AND MISTAKES YOU NEED TO AVOID!


1. Stop Multitasking

Multitasking can seem very time-saving and fun. But, it is quite energy-draining. Our brain can ONLY focus on a single task at a time. It's just our brain switches from one task to another task very fast which makes us think we're multitasking.

If you're going for a long study period, Avoid Multitasking!

TIP: Try Prioritizing instead!


2. Not the perfect "Mood"

Ever felt you're not in the mood to study? and you just can't study?

Studying in a bad/ imperfect "Mood" can be very exhausting. Try thinking of the result when you study to be as glorious and fun and Work hard to get it! (Try not to over-expect^^)

TIP: Try medication, Taking a small walk before work, Prayer, Music, journaling, or anything which changes your mood into a happy one!

3. Distracted?

As a student myself, getting distracted from work is more of a routine than a mistake. It happens accidentally but you might regret it really bad. So to AVOID that, stay away from distractions!

TIP: Turn down any kind of distractions. If it's a gadget, try putting them on silent, or having an app to help you focus (I recommend "Forest")


4. Writing for the sake of writing

This is a big mistake almost every student has done in their student life. If we write just for the sake of it, We'll not get it on our minds and we have to rush it all over at night before the exam.

TIP: Read your notes! Before or at least after writing

You can even try to Color-code your notes, from important to facts in different colors/ fonts.


5. sky-high expectations

This is also a very common issue "among us". Some students think they just can't do it because reaching all the way up to that sky-high expectation is really hard.

It's good to have confidence and faith in it. Even if you do not succeed in it, Try not to break down and give it all up! Try again until you can win!

Or the best thing is to set mini goals to get the big boss goal. This will help you win the small goals and will give to more motivation and hope!

TIP: Set up simple and hard tasks for yourself, with your own extras. Try to finish them before your imaginary deadline. Take it easy and chill.


6. Low self-esteem?

If some have high expectations and high self-esteem, Some have Low self-esteem. Please try not to be! Because everyone has a talent in them. If studying is not your thing something else is!

#Love yourself

TIP: Find your magic path towards what you want to do and have! It may need help, don't be shy or hold back. Ask doubts, and look for your answers!


7. Listening to Music

Last but not least, "Music".

In many of the above paragraphs, "Music" was given as an option for keeping calm or setting the mood. But, everything is a coin, with its good and bad sides.

The good is, it helps you calm down and maybe even gives you hope you finish your work!

But, The bad side is that It can be quite distracting, especially if you know the song really well. When you study, your brain "Multitasks" as you do your work and listen to music at the same time. Plus, your brain processes the lyrics in your exam, resulting in your test answers being the lyrics instead of the formulas you've learned. So, try to avoid music as well!

TIP: If you really want to listen to music really bad. Try listening to "LYRICLESS" songs. Maybe, Backgrounds or calming audios.

Like Lofi, Bgm music etc!
