(Leon POV)
Many prestigious colleges are recruiting me for football scholarship because of the championship game. I feel like a star right now. This is literally a dream come true, me graduating as one of the top students in our batch and being the football star. I am actually debating between Harvard, Yale or Stanford. My first choice should be Harvard.
However, since Cry is the valedictorian and is into arts, he received a scholarship from the best college that offers fine arts which is Yale University and he already chose that, so I guess I'll just pick Yale, just because I get to be closer to Cry, and Yale is also great for me, it's actually my second choice.
Anyway, my parents wanted to have a celebration because of my grades and football scholarship. Actually, my dad was the one who wanted to have a dinner which is quite surprising because it is usually mom who plans it, and the strangest thing is he required me to invite Cry. Something smells fishy here, and whatever it is, I am going to have to find out.
The table is set, the food is ready and we are all dressed up elegantly. We're just waiting for Cry.
Suddenly, we heard the doorbell ring.
"That must be Cry!" My mom exclaimed. I hurried to the door and opened it and saw my baby wearing a formal attire. I giggled because of its cuteness.
"How's the meeting?" I joked.
"Shut up!!I earned a good money for this." He said while pouting.
"Aww, angel! You didn't have to, you know." I said as I reached down to kiss his nose.
"I know but this is your celebration and I want to look good for you." He said. I let him in and I ushered him to the dining room where my parents are already waiting.
"Hello, Crayon, you look gorgeous, sweetheart!"
"Thank you, Mrs. Gonzales." He said as he blushed.
"Sit down, already!!" My dad said coldly. What the fuck is wrong with him?! How dare he say that to Cry?
We are all in our seats already. We prayed and said our grace before digging into our delicious dinner.
For the appetizer, we have baked oyster Rockefeller. For our main course, we have a grilled chicken with sweet and smoky bourbon barbecue sauce, garlic mash potatoes, and green beans.
Mom then started a conversation.
"So Crayon, tell me more about yourself! You've been hanging out with my son here and I still don't know some things about you. Don't be shy, dear. I mean I heard from Leon that you are a great painter, is that right?"
"Yes ma'am...I developed my love for art when I first saw the painting of starry night by Vincent Van Gogh."
"Oh yeah, I know that! That's probably his masterpiece. I think that's where Van Gogh earned his fame."
"Yeah, and I just love how detailed it is, the colors and intricacy of it just make you feel mesmerized and it makes you want to visualize what Van Gogh is seeing or imagining at that time." Cry explained. He is so adorable. Mom hit it in the bulls eye when she brought up the art conversation because I know Cry is not going to stop talking once he heard the word, art. He is such an adorable little angel.
"By the way, congratulations on your scholarship in Yale and you being the valedictorian. You must be feeling so good that you are about to pursue your passion in arts."
"Thank you so much, ma'am. How about you? What was your passion back in the day?"
"Well, I wanted to be an actress but my parents forced me to do business management so I never got to pursue it."
