FIRST ARC: THE START OF THE BEGINNING

PROLOGUE: The Beginning

The rays of light slowly break from the horizon. The golden colored lights pass through the small cracks and gaps of an old wooden hut standing in the valley near the Bakunawa river. The river produce a little flowing sounds along with the chirps of birds. It is such a calming sounds to the ear.

Bakunawa river is a major river flowing to the town of Aelle found in the border of Sol Province of Zavner Empire. The Empire is known to be the smallest and weakest Empire in the Philippine Continent.

The door of the hut slowly crack open. It creak that echo in the vast valley. The sounds break the calming music of nature.

Few seconds after, a young boy stand in front of the open door. Based on her appearance he could be at the age of forthteen to sixthteen years old.

He's wearing a ragged clothes that's in the close inspection it was already torn multiple times but only stitch to retain it shape. The boy slowly walk toward the barrel of water near the river.

The boy have some dust and dirt all over his body. One could judge his hard life by simple looking on his thin and skinny body.

He raised his hands and slowly reach on the wooden dipper on top of the barrel. But a very strong wind blow causing the water on the barrel to spill. The river wave also created an uproar.

Few seconds after that, a loud bang would be hear on the thick forest of the valley. The birds that were on that forest flee to the sky.

That caught the attention of the young boy. He move his gaze towards the direction of the explosion. Dust rose up into the air. It create a smoke like appearance.

He only shrugged his shoulder and continue on his activity. He drunk a water from the barrel and move his foot towards the hut.

'Those are just some magic cultivator' he thought.

'How am I going to hunt today?' he ask on his mind.

The intense fight continues. Explosion could be heard miles from that location. The battle attract experts from different locations, as well as commoners who would look for what's happening.

The boy move his feet toward the exit of his hut. The sounds of a commotion outside enter his ears capturing his attention.

"Zillion!" A girl shouted from the distance. A teenage girl is waving toward his direction. The girl is a little medium in height. She have a good posture and an attractive small face. She have a tender looking eyes. And a white soft skin that highlights her small red lips.

Zillion, the boy smile shyly. He lower his head slowly trying to avoid the girls eyes.

Few more second a sound of a continuous and fast steps enter his ears. A beautiful and thin legs capture his sights. The girl is standing in front of him.

"W-what are you doing here? Maia," he asked.

The girl curiously peek toward his lowered face. "Are you avoiding me?"
He force the side of his lips to curve up. "N-No," he replied. It feels embarrassing in front of the gorgeous lady. Maia is know to be the number one beauty of the town of Aelle. She's Zillion childhood friends.

Due to Maia's family background he was force to avoid her. One year after that, the Rodriguez Family or Maia's family get a known Magic-cultivator to train and teach Maia.

The Rodriguez Family is known to be the domineering family of the Aelle town. And few months later a rumor spread to their town saying that Maia was forcibly betrothed to the young lord of Iclar City.

"Hey Zillion!"

Zillion immediately look towards Maia's direction. Her eyes were squinting at him and lip's were already pouting.

"H-huh? Were you saying anything?"
The disgust(irritation) on her face became a lot more clearer. "You were zoning out again. You weren't listening to me." She pouted. Few seconds after Zillion's heartbeats could be hear from couple of miles away. This is bad, she already had a fiance.

"I-I'm sorry. What were you saying earlier?"

Zillion instantly remove his sights to her. It immediately catch the attention of the people around gossiping and looking at them.

"Well I'm saying that I already did reach the Tenth order of the beginning magic stage basic discipline. I already awaken my Ice elements few days ago..."

His eyes widened. Maia is really living up to her name not only the number one beauty but also the first genius of Aelle town. Reaching the tenth order of the beginning magic stage in only a year is already an achievement to their province.

Compared to her, Zillion can't even gather magic energy not even cultivate.

'I'm really just a mere mortal.' he think.
