Y/N POV:

I'm running, I'm panting,

I'm running away from my sorrow, I'm running away from the pain.

My tears dry and my head held high,

The scar on my face, won't change my pace.

The darkness consumes me, my vision is blurry,

Where will I go in such a hurry?

After running for what seemed like a decade, I reach the park, my comfort place. A place where no one can find me. I touch my cheek which now has a red mark across it in shape of a hand. How can he be such an asshole? I kneel down to touch the sand, my hands are trembling and cold. When I feel the sand in my hands, I feel satisfied. I get up and sit on the swings. The day was turning into night. I could see the sun set in the distance, far far away. I wipe the tear that was slowly trickling down my cheek. Just then, I heard a voice. A voice that I have heard before and I recognized immediately. I turn around and see Boris standing there with a cigarette in his hand. "Are you okay Y/N/N?" his voice was soothing and the sharp Russian accent made me feel some things, things I felt ever since the day he spoke to me. "Not really." I reply back slowly. He sits down on the vacant swing next to me. He examines my face slowly and then grabs my chin with his finger, making me face him. "You can tell me you know, ya?" he said with a soft smile. I could, I could talk to him for hours. He is the only one who understands my pain. We have been friends for a long time and never has he judged me. "It's.. my father Boris." I reply back while holding back my tears. He bickers something in Russian and then says "Leave that asshole alone, he don't deserve you krasotka." His broken English is adorable. He holds my hand and intertwines his fingers with mine. With this other hand, he takes something out of his pocket. A piece of paper. "Believe me Y/N/N, this is going to be one of the great nights of your life." he says while smirking and hands me a piece of candy. I hesitate to take it but I do eventually, I want to know what it feels like. I put it in my mouth and let it sit there for a while, Boris does the same. "You'll feel very good Y/N, trust me kay?" he says softly. I nod my head while gulping down the candy. We sit on the swings for a while, talking about school and life. After a while, I start feeling something.

-Time Skip-

"B-Boris I don't feel so good." I say while leaning on him while we're walking back home. He holds onto my waist tightly, making sure I don't fall. "It's starting to work moya lyubov' (my love)." he says. I hold onto his shoulders. I can't feel my legs, I feel like I'm floating and I'm never coming back down. I can't see colors anymore, I can see my surroundings in black and white, just like in the movies. The sun has now completely set and the only source of light is a streetlamp in the distance. I can feel Boris breathing heavily. I look up at him but my vision is now completely blurry. "Relax Y/N, almost here." he says still holding onto me. Before I knew it, we had reached home. I completely blacked out and Boris picks me up bridal style and heads to my room. He lays me down on the bed, covering me with the blanket. He goes to the other side and lays down beside me. "Goodnight Y/N/N." he says and kisses my forehead. We slowly fall into a quiet slumber in each others arms.

A/N: This has to be my favorite chapter I have ever written. Thank you all for 100 reads!
