September 5th - Third year at Hogwarts

"I can't believe they let that hairy monster be a teacher!" Draco was complaining to me while we were walking to our first class of Care of Magical Creatures. It was also Hagrid's first class. Rubeus Hagrid was the keeper of the keys and grounds at Hogwarts but now also a teacher. He had always been quite clumsy which made me wonder what kind of teacher he would be.

"Calm down, Draco!" I laughed.

"Well, he's going to kill us all!" Draco mumbled.

"Right!" Pansy agreed with him. Of course, she did. I still found her annoying even though I had promised to my father to try and get along with her. I hadn't really worked because she was just so irritable.

This class was going to be interesting. We had these crazy books that tried to bite my hands off every time I had tried to open it. I didn't think no one had gotten it open yet. I wondered what the idea of these was. The book was hairy, and it had a belt around it. Anyway, the class was in the middle of the woods. Maybe Draco was right, he was going to kill us all.

When we arrived in the little empty square in the woods, we saw the "Golden trio" together again. I hadn't really gotten along with them for the past two years. After Ron had blamed me for spying on them, I had despised him. Harry was obnoxious and I didn't like him at all. He wasn't even Slytherin but all he did was think about himself. Hermione - who was the smart girl - was the only one who I kind of liked. She was kind but Draco didn't like her because she was muggle-born. Last year he called her mudblood and we had a huge fight with him because I didn't like him using those kinds of words.

"Watch out!" Draco suddenly yelled and I flinched. "Dementor! Dementor!" I groaned. This stupid boy was still teasing Harry about the fact he had fainted on the train while the guards from Azkaban had search the train for serial killer, Sirius Black.

Draco, Crabbe and Goyle put their hoods on and pretended to be dementors. Harry was going to fight them, but Hermione grinned at Draco and pulled Harry away from them.

I slapped Draco on the head slightly but didn't say anything. I didn't care if he teased him a little bit. I found it funny too that Harry had fainted on the train when nobody else had. Wonder what had made him faint.

Draco just smirked at me. He never got mad at me for anything which annoyed me a little bit. No matter what I did he didn't get mad at me. He got mad at Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle, but not me! Why? I didn't get it. Was it because of the deal? Was it because he was supposed to marry me? For some reason I wanted him to get mad at me. I wanted him to yell at me for being annoying or for me not letting him bully Harry too much.

"Welcome, welcome! Gather around!" The big giant said from the other side. People went closer to him, but we stayed behind with Draco - and Pansy, of course.

"Today I'm gonna show ye somethin' very awesome," Hagrid said.

Draco laughed next to me. He hated Hagrid, mostly because Hagrid was friends with Harry. But I saw his face change when Hagrid brought something very big in front of us. It was weird looking animal. It had a huge eagle head but a horse's body. Its front legs were also eagle's feet, but the back legs were horse's. I stared at it in horror.

"What is it, Hagrid?" Harry asked.

"This is Buckbeak!" Hagrid looked proud. "He's a hippogriff!"

A hippogriff? I had never heard it before. It looked scary.

Hagrid started explaining about it, but I didn't listen. I was too shocked about the huge animal in front of us. I didn't like big animals, they scared me to death. When Buckbeak made a sudden move, I grabbed Draco's sleeve and squeezed it.
