Catherine was standing in the middle of the sidewalk where you would find stalls, shops and some houses line up. She was fidgeting and pacing, so much so she would sometimes bump into strangers that would later look at her with distrust or distaste.
She didn't like waiting, and she doesn't like being in crowded areas. Well now she was in both situations. Catherine would fear if she would wait a moment longer, she would be late. And she dislikes that more than the other two.
Finally, a familiar cheerful voice reach her ear and she jerked her head to find her childhood friend, the protagonist, Rose.
"Where were you? I'm been waiting for hours Ashlyn!" The lady in question gave a sheepishly smile.
"Sorry Catherine, I woke up late," Ashlyn instinctively reached for Catherine's arm to linked arms with aa she often does.
But Catherine flinched and stumbled back.
There was pause, both two were now frozen in their position as a awkward silence took over. Ashlyn blinked, then made out an laugh that was awkward and confuse.
"I.." Ashlyn started, "I'm sure you haven't waiting for hours, Cassie." She lightly punch Catherine's shoulder.
It took a while for her to regain herself but soon she was now laughing and eventually they started to head to the academy.
"It felt like it was." Catherine puffed her cheeks, "I just don't want to be late on our first day." She murmured.
"Hey now, class doesn't start until 9, even if some catastrophe were to happen we still wouldn't be late."
Though she may use such cheerful tone and wide smiles, Ashlyn's mind is pledged with worries and doubts.
After all this was an important day to the story. This is an important day for Ashlyn She will be the first commoner to ever be accepted into a prestige and privileged school filled with nobility.
I know more than anyone else what unjust treatment may come at her. But I am just a side character, I can't do anything that could prevent it. I only hope that after the story ends, I can go back home and forget about this dream.
"Catherine?"
Catherine's shoulder jumped as she look up to see Ashlyn, a few step away from her clearly confuse and worry.
"Oh sorry I spaced out." She laughed and quickly pick up the pace. The rest of the way was pleasant, talking about trivial things and asking dumb questions to filled up the time as they go nearer and nearer to the Everly Academy.

Once Catherine and Ashlyn stepped foot on the courtyard with a small stage and chairs. The place was already packed with student. They were almost afraid they wouldn't be able to get seats.
Ashlyn looked around frantically, maneuvering the crowd of students blocking her path until she found a free spot. She quickly moved toward it as a girl sitting beside it caught her eye.
She was indeed a birth of nobility, with her shining smooth hair that flows just below her waist, and a dress with various gems and diamonds. Any other person would feel intimidated to even be in the same presence as her. However that wasn't the case for the young protagonist.
Ashlyn lightly tapped the noble lady's shoulder, quickly to getting her attention as she snap her head to the person smiling so casually.
"Hello, are those seats taken by any chance?" Ashlyn pointed to the seat beside her.
