Movie night

Mondo POV

"Hey ishi, you wanna watch a movie with me?" I asked, poking at his hand with my index finger.

He let out a hum and placed his pencil on the desk.

He turned to me, his red eyes fixated on my violet ones. I felt a bit embarrassed, I was never really good at eye contact anyway..

He placed his hand on his chin, "Hm~ a movie?," I perked up. "Uh- Yeah! Yeah, a movie!" I smiled, placing my hands on his desk.

"You're always studying your ass off," I started, Taka's probably heard this rant from me a thousand times by now, "Why not relax a little?" I suggested, focusing on his posture and expressions to get my answer early.

He looked like he was thinking, his hand fell off his chin and rested on the textbook he was copying off of. I knew the likely chance he'd say yes was about 30%, it's not much, but it's still a chance.

I've been getting worried about his health more than usual. Naturally, he studies more when finals are coming, but this is getting ridiculous.

He's skipping meals to have more time, skipping events with friends, ignoring the fact he's getting dehydrated, and even missed 2 weeks of work. I understand it's our last year at Hope's Peak, everybody(even Leon) is college searching, job hunting, moving out, getting married, etc. But Taka already had that figured out by our 2nd year and hasn't touched on the subject since. People want to go to a college that relates to their ultimate. Which he already has figured out, but he won't tell me for some reason.

For Taka, that would probably be a police officer, right?

Or maybe a bodyguard..

I bit my tongue.

It's probably best that I cut that thinking out. Taka's already busy enough, he'd never have time for a partner.

He probably likes Aoi anyway, I've caught him staring at her multiple times. I once teased him about it, I expected his face to get red and for him to start stuttering. To my pleasure he didn't, he actually let out a small laugh, not sure what that meant.

But it just made me feel relieved seeing he might not like her as much as I thought.

"Well?" I asked, a small nervous drop of sweat going down my cheek.

He still didn't answer, it was now getting a bit awkward. He never took this long to answer something..

"Sure," He started, "I think I deserve a break." He said, closing the textbook, and began getting up from his chair.

I could tell my face lit up since he stared at me for a couple of seconds after he said yes.

"Yes! What do you wanna watch? I think I have a couple of horror movies, or maybe.. do you like romance? Oh! I have a couple of action one-" He placed his hand on my mouth. "Calm down.. it's only a movie Mondo," He laughed before continuing, "It amazes me how excited you get when we get a chance to hang out." He finished, I felt my face heat up at that comment.

I didn't usually get this excited, but because of finals, I haven't spent proper time with him in a while. Plus, I have my annoying feelings for him, why wouldn't I be excited to spend time with you?

"Are you making fun of me?" I asked, squinting my eyes a bit.

He shook his head, but with the same stupid smirk on his face he uses when he is making fun of me. I huffed, excusing myself from the classroom. Before I left I told him he can come over whenever and I'll start preparing snacks when he gets there.
