I put my headphones on and tried to get comfortable in my seat, it was first class so it shouldn't have been that hard but lately everything has been hard for me. The whole flight was a blur, it felt too quick but way too slow at the same time.

When I finally stepped off the plane, hot wind blew over my body and the sun had just started to set. Orange hues had covered the sky and the clouds turned a light, cotton candy pink. A ghost of a smile could have been seen on my face and a whisper of "hi dad" heard from my lips.

The black car was waiting for me and the familiar driver stepped out to get my bags. "I got it Theo," I say rolling my eyes dramatically.

"I know you're a 'strong and independent' girl but your mom will fire me if I don't do this," he said with a soft laugh.

Theo had been my driver for around a year now and he's one of the only employees I like. He's only 3 years older than me so it's easier to have a conversation with him compared to Larry, my old driver. He was so old, I was surprised it was legal for him to still drive and I told him such, which pretty much started our hateful relationship. He was such a sensitive guy.

"Okay fine, I'll let you but we have to stop at McDonald's on the way."

His smile showcased his dimples and he shook his head with a laugh. "Fine."

After he put my suitcases in the trunk, he joined me in the car. His car was always so comfortable and smelt like vanilla. "Your car always smells sooo good."

He gives me the side eye and a smile played on his lips.

"So how are you feeling about the new school?" He asks starting the conversation.

"Surprisingly, I feel good about it. Like I can be anyone here especially with my mom being so far away."

Theo knows all the drama with me and my mom, he's also one of the only people who doesn't look at me differently knowing that my dad died.

"Just don't change too much okay?"

"Okay," I promise him.

We stop at Mcdonalds and get our usual orders which consists of 2 large chocolate sundaes and three cheeseburgers, two of which are his. We stay in the car park finishing our meals, then we're back on the road heading for Rainfall High.

On the way we talk more, catching each other up on our lives and everything that's happened in our personal lives. Then what seems like two seconds go by and Theo's pulling up next to a tall, majestic looking building.

The clean red bricks and freshly cut grass give the illusion that it's new but according to all the research I did, it's at least one hundred years old. The trees outside are lined up perfectly, dancing lightly with the wind and a bright light illuminates the front door that bears a lion crest.

"Wow," Theo exhales and I nod my head, "Wow indeed."

Theo gets out and opens my door, he then goes around to the trunk to get my bags. "Well this is where I leave you," Theo says with a smile.

He places the suitcases in front of me and gives me a brotherly hug. "Stay safe okay?" Is the last thing he says before he's retracting his arms, getting in the car and driving away. Far, far away.

The stairs creak as I walked up them and although I like to pride myself as strong and independent, I wish Theo stayed to carry up my suitcases because my arms are starting to cramp.

When I finally get to the top I push the door open and it screeches like a train slamming on its breaks.

The hallway is dark and there are statues on each side of the entrance, creepy looking statues and suddenly I want the creepy dolls back. The archway is made with wood that looks old but it hasn't started rotting yet so... I guess that's good?

After a few feet the hallway opens up and the room is filled with students sitting and... I squint to get a better look at what they're doing.

There are 2 people playing chess and a few people sitting around playing card games. The rest have are sitting on a coach, talking loudly.

I'm surprised I hadn't heard them before but I must have been in my head a little too much.

I continue watching them, more like observing them. I want to know the different cliques, scope out the people I could maybe, possibly get along with for my time here. That is until all of them go silent and stare at me.

I hadn't said anything had I?

I don't back down or cower away from their looks, I just continue looking and that's when I notice three boys sitting together away from everyone else.

They look at me curiously and they all have completely different looks.

The one on the left side has darker skin and lighter eyes. His hair is short but not completely buzzed and his jawline is hard and sharp. He looks the friendliess out of all of them, with a bright smile and two dimples showing.

The one in the middle has my full attention now, like he demanded it with his mind. His hair is lighter and longer and looks so soft but the glare in his eyes shows nothing about him is soft. He looks at me as if he has a death wish for me.

Well that's one thing we have incommon.

The one on the right has black hair, as long as the one in the middle and his eyes are a piercing blue. His jaw structure is similar to mine and his right arm filled with tattoos. His left eyebrow is raised and I don't know if I should smile or glower at him.

What do they even feed these people? Even now as I move on from the boys every single person is so... perfect.

The girls have long straight hair and makeup that looks natural to anyone who doesn't look too closely. And the boys all have muscular bodies with a couple visible tattoos.  No wonder they're staring, I look like a complete outsider.
