~ONE~
Connor
I saw her. She was right there. My skin tingled with excitment as I eagerly approached her. I would just go through the steps. Do what I was here to do. Take out my orders and use my training to my advantage. I know she has seen me. But hwere? When she gets near I can fell the familiarness. She's from somewhere but for some reason I can't place it in my mixed up mind. I feel so trapped. The pail white walls of the school corridor seemed to close in on me as my anxiety grew.
The steps, just remember the steps. Befriend her, gain her trust, kill her. Easy. She wouldn't even know what hit her. This was my first day at this school. I was supposed to be some type of exchange student. I was suprised humans even bought this crap. Then again...when they could use less then ten percent of their brains I could use somewhere around ninety percent of mine. They were pitiful. I sneered in disgust self conciously.
I quickly straightened my face into a warm smile and half heartedly winked at some passing girls. They giggled and cantered off leaving that girl...Katie I think her name is....sitting alone at her desk. The teacher stood from her desk.
"Katie you may finish up your test and leave. Don't stay any longer than 3:00 though. Okay? I'm going home now just leave your test on my desk."
Katie nodded her head, her wavy blonde hair shifting slightly. The teacher excited the room leaving us in utter silence for a moment. Then I found my voice, "So Katie is it? Hey, I'm Conner."
She glanced up at me and gave a little smile, letting the tips of her full lips tilt up the slightest before looking back down at what was supposed to be her test. I twas really an amazingly elaberate portraite of a man lying on the ground and flames licking at his feet. Pieces of scrap metal fell around him and he seemed to be unconcious. Than a sickning realization came on. That young man was...me.
"why are you drawing that? Shouldn't you be doing your test?!" I snapped a little bit more harshly than I had intended.
She looked taken aback for a moment but responded all the same. "Actually, if you don't tell anyone...I finished five minutes after she passed them out. I just seem a little...too smart so I cover up for my weirdness by acting dumb and having to stay after class. But really I just draw."
I glared at her for a moment but quickly turned on my charm. "So," I say smoothly, sliding onto her desk, leaning against it. I planted one hand firmly on her picture so she couldn't draw. "You got anything going on Friday evening." She glanced up and I took the opportunity to flash her a white hollywood smile.
Did I see that right? Did she just roll her eyes at me?! She ripped her drawing from my grasp and shoved it into her bag. "Look, you just met me! You don't even know anything about me! And by the way, I would rather be here than go out with a player like yourself on a Friday night!"
She narrowed her eyes and slipped her bag onto her shoulder before shoving me aside and leaving the room. I stood shocked for a moment. No one ever stood up to me! And no girl could ever resist my charm. It was like she was suspicious of me. But why? Why had she drawn me? I was going to find out. I was going to get to the bottom of this and I was going to hunt donw that girl if it was the last thing I ever did. She was going to die. Die. And there was nothing she could do about it.
I swept with dignity still in my grasp from the classroom and speed walked down the rows of blue lockers. This whole school was hideous! White walls, old blue lockers, crached windows. It was an awful environment. But I enjured it every day for that Katie. So I could get closer to her though so far my plans were looking bleak.
