~TWO~
Katie
Morning light seeped through my blind and I heard the alarm clock's siren wailing from my bedside table. I shot my hand out, letting it collide with the annoying piece of technology before sucking my hand back under the warmth of my blankets. I snuggled up but soon foubnd an annoying pounding on the floor of my room. The sound of Margaret banging on her roof with a broomstick.
"Get up and ready for school!" She screeched in her witchy voice.
I rolled my eyes and reluctantly slipped out into the harsh biterness of my room. I pulled my blinds back and stared out the window sighing deeply as I did so. The vast expanse of land I called my home spread out before me and I heard the faint, muffled chirping of birds.
My eyebrows furrowed together to become one for a moment as I pondered my most strange thoughts. About myself. I was so...different from everyone else. Not like ina oh everyone is unique kind of way but as in an abnormal way.
I looked so, well actually I hate to say something like this about myself, but I looked so much better than everyone else. I didn't ever need to wear any make up and still looked better than the prettiest girl at our school. I was freakishly smart and good at a lot of things like: Sports, drawing, writing, and lots of other stuff like that! I kept it a secret though. Remember how I said I was smart? Well I'm smart enough to realize my abnormal qualitys and keep them hidden through not participating in gym, and pretending not to do well in school. I keep to myself. So far, my plan hasn't failed me.
I slipped on a pari of dark skiny jeans and a loose top. I grabbed a short sweater and brushed my teeth my hair and did all of that stuff to prep myself for a new day of school.
I rushed down stairs to find Richy sitting, actually more like slouched over, in a kitchen chair still in his pj bottoms and no shirt present. Trust me, every human deserves to go a whole life without seeing this man's naked torso! It was pail white and was a little floppy at his chest but curved out to form a pregenant looking belly. Hair grew from every inch of him like a dense rain forest and I swear I heard the sounds of something living coming from his belly button. His black greasy hair was slicked back to reveal a shining forehead. The grey strands of hair stood out against the black bulge of it and he had a long mustcache with a small grey beard. He paused, looking up from his newspapaer to glare at me.
"Make us eggs!" He snapped. I quickly obeyed, thrusting the pan to the stove and cranking the heat. A wob of butter was added to the heated pan along with salt pepper and eggs. I put some toast in the toaster and snatched soem oranges from the fridge.
After removing the eggs onto four plates I planted peeled oranges, each already split into pieces by my nimble fingers. I put jam and butter on the toast and quickly put a mug of coffee in front of each parent at the kitchen table. They both created a disgusting slurrping sound as they consumed the stuff. Ew.
I served up their breakfast, and as I turned back to the counter to grab mine Liam came in scratching his stomach moodily with half closed eyes and dark hair that stuck up all over the place. He too bore the markings of blues and blacks from his father's beatings, but not nearly as many as me.
"What's for break?" He asked lazily as he plopped himself down in the attached living room. The kitchen and the living room had no walls between them so you could clearly see from one to the other. The TV sizzled to life and I gave Liam his breakfast before returning to my seat at the table.
"Well, kido." Richy began in a barky voice, "Your mother's goin' out wid er' friends for de day, meanin' you can take care of the home and clean like you promised. Eh? As well as give me your eggs. I'm starved!"
