'You should have atleast tried to convince her, I mean she is your spirit after all "Max suggested as he made modifications to the machine Ayame is in connection to.

"That's not the point here, why is she magically active?" Mel asked, wasting an opportunity to consolidate.

"Maybe she is related to a rogue mage" Max speculated.

"Even so, the circumstances to find out her magical activity was non existent up until a month ago" Aoki said.

"That is, if she ever was in the first place" he added.

"You know what guys, I'm going to be late for the data submission, Mrs Ayame's blood report could be... up by now" Max explained and left the room. The tension between Aoki and Mel was mildly frustrating for him as both of them steered away from every obvious patch up he was trying to set.

The machine connected to Ayame buzzed in the background, drawing  their attention. Aoki noticed that the sky was clearing up.

The curiosity was unsettling, for the both of them.  Aoki recollected the conversation from yesterday to find anything to latch on to, he suddenly remembered something.

"And...I'm going to be late to school!" He said.

"No!...No! Never, we are going nowhere until you come clean, we should talk to Tarou" Mel shouted,

"Clearly,. You're not thinking what I'm thinking" he said.

"Im literally connected to your brain Aoki" she pointed out

"Then trust me on this, we'll figure this out" he convince her and left the room.

The reverberating thump of every dong drove away the pigeons from the vicinity of the bell, which further echoed down the clock tower to every corridor and ally of the very familiar academic infrastructure, Successfully seeking everyone's attention and reminding them of the time and their duties. Every bystander began to walk, late comers picked up pase and classes were refilled drastically, it's a morning rush once again; A typical Monday at Itachiyama junior high

Aoki stood infront of the gate looking down at the metal rail on which the gate runs horizontally to open and close, the line that he loathed to cross. He was dressed in his wrinkled school uniform which now was tighter around the biceps and the crouch area, the pant was also short and tight at the calf muscle. He kept staring at the line and then looked up.

A huge stretch of play ground was  bordered by cherry blossoms and bushes. Surrounding the plantation was a compound wall, from the gate terminal around the fecility to the watchman's cabin, which was the only opening to the institution. The gap to close the gate; the main entrance.

Beyond situated the tall bell tower accompanied by two five storied structures on either side with four cubicle on each floor. The bell tower was presented as the symmetrical centerpiece and had the entrence to the establishment at its base. The premise was hearty and welcoming, but not for Aoki.

He imagined himself with his tidy uniform walking steadily; head down, clinching the straps of his bag, as paper balls and pen caps flew at him from multiple directions. This place is the representation of his life long humiliation and embarrassment, his solitude grabbed the attention of bullies, his tolerance encouraged them, and was taken down and annoyed at every chance. He saw taunts and laughter everywhere, when he looked up from his sorry state, he saw cruel and ignorant eyes all around him, but only one pair... looked different, it had mercy in them, helplessness at the same time, but they were sparkling with grace, they were the next kind eyes he had ever seen after his mother's. Mayumi eyes.
