Log 1
Recently I've gotten this small journal as a gift, and I decided to write down my life as a railway worker. Sort of like a diary. My name is Danniel Morris, I work as an engine driver on BR railways. I drive a black five steam locomotive. You may think I'm referring to Henry the green engine. But while he is a black five, I'm actually talking about a different engine. He's the same class of engine as Henry, but he's a different character entirely. His name is Andy. Andy works as one of BR's main goods engines. Andy and I have a Very close relationship as we've worked together for years since he and his class were first built back in 1934. I've gotten so worried about Andy getting the axe or me having to be laid off, but thankfully we just barely made it past the beeching act. What else... Andy is doing fine, his parts are becoming a little worn and he hasn't been taken in for a repaint or repairs for a while. Other than that, everything is going alright for us. I'll update this with something I find cool or interesting. I don't see why I say that like someone will find this journal, but oh well. I suppose it's just instinct... or just a thought that my family back home might see this. Mum did say I was an excellent writer. Anyways, Andy is getting ready to head back to his main shed, so I'll end this log here.Log 2
So you know the phrase "make your blood run cold"? Well that was what I felt. It horrified me to hear some workers say that some steam engines were being withdrawn from service. It scares me to think Andy will be withdrawn. Hopefully that doesn't happen, because I'm only qualified to operate steam engines. And plus Andy is like family to me, and I'd actually be devastated to see him get left in a shed for who knows how long. All I'm going to say is that I really hope Andy and other steam engines will be spared from being withdrawn... I really do hope...
