NANCY DROVE them to the hospital, with jonathan, and they walked into the hospital, hearing the front-desk lady talking on the phone, supposedly with her friend.
nancy tried to walk past her, with the group following behind her.
"whoa, whoa, whoa! excuse me!" the lady stops them. "where do you think you're going?"
all of them stop their tracks.
"oh, um.. i was just going to visit my grandma again." nancy replies, with an awkward smile. "and— and, this.. this is my family."
"extended." lucas adds with a smile.
"i don't care who they are." the lady tells nancy, a bit harsh too. "you know the rules. two visitors at a time."
"yeah, but-"
"two!"
nancy and jonathan decided for just them to go, since there could only be two at a time.
y/n was standing in a corner, reading her magazine.
mike came up to y/n, and stood next to her, causing y/n to close her magazine, and put it on the table.
"do you want some m&m's?" mike offered to y/n.
y/n sighed, but decided to give in, she held her hand out, to which mike poured the candy into her hand, which caused y/n to have a small smile.
"listen, i'm sorry." mike apologized to her. "about the mall. i really am."
"i'm sorry too." y/n spoke. "i escalated things when i shouldn't have."
"yeah, well. you were right anyway." mike admitted. "el can make her own decisions, and she has hopper to help her. she doesn't need us making decisions for her."
"yeah." y/n agreed as she laughed, which caused mike to laugh as well, with a blush on his face.
"so, are we still on a break?" mike quietly asked her.
a smile started to spread across y/n's face, she cupped his cheeks, and pulled him in, crashing her lips against his.
the two pulled away from the kiss, both of them smiling.
"i'm assuming that was a yes." mike joked.
"no shit, wheeler." y/n teased with a smile.
their moment, once again, was cut short. the lights started to flicker.

they went upstairs, to check on nancy and jonathan.
they went to the door, to see jonathan was trying to break in.
el broke open the door with her powers, and they all walked in, including jonathan.
there it was, the mind flayer, almost getting nancy.
