Chloe stared at me with wide eyes as my father eyed Ricky. My mom just sat there expressionless. It was hard to read her.

"And how long have you known this?" My mother asked after a while.

"Four months."

"And how far along are you exactly?" She asked. She was prying.

"Five months."

"And how long has Ricky known?"

"Three months."

"And you didn't think telling your parents it was a good idea four months ago?" My mother asked, obviously starting to get angry.

"Well considering Ricky only found out three months ago, and it's really up to me when I decide to tell you, no." I said while rolling my eyes.

"Abigail! We are already a good four months behind! We need to start the search for a spouse immediately. When do you find out the sex of the baby?" She started yelling.

"Our child won't be having an arranged marriage." Ricky finally spoke up. I looked up to my husband and smiled.

"It's family tradition, Son." My Dad said.

"I don't care. Our child is not being married off to someone, and we are keeping the sex of the baby a surprise." Ricky spoke sternly.

Both of my parents looked shock and Chloe looked awkward as if she didn't have a place here.

I stood up before my parents could argue. "We'll be leaving now. Thanks for the meal. It was great." I pulled Ricky up by his hand and then pulled him out of the kitchen leaving my parents and sister at the table.

I angrily put my shoes on and opened the door. I stormed out and ran towards the car, with Ricky hot on my heels.

When I reached the car, I was quickly spun around and Ricky backed me against the car door.

He immediately pulled me in for a comforting hug that I didn't know I needed. Tears were pouring out of my eyes.

"I'm sorry baby." He whispered while rubbing circles on my back. "I should've told you we were coming here."

I didn't answer, I just let more tears fall.

"I want to go home." I sobbed after a while of being embraced by Ricky.

"Okay. Let's go." He said soothingly while pulling me forward to open the car door to allow me to sit inside.

I cried the whole way back home and practically ran out of the car once we got there.

Ricky stayed silent the car ride home, but kept a hand on my thigh to try and help comfort me. It didn't work.

I barged into the house, startling Balz in the process.

"Holy shit you- oh my god what's wrong? What did Ricky do?" Balz cut off his sentence.

I shook my head while letting more tears fall before running into the bedroom and slamming the door behind me.

"What happened?" I heard Balz ask Ricky. He must've just got inside.

"Her parents found out she was pregnant and we all fought." Ricky said while trying to be quiet. "I'm going to go."

I heard his light footsteps get closer to the bedroom and then the door open and close.

The bed dipped beside me and Ricky pulled me into his arms.

"I hate them." I sobbed.

"I know." He said quietly. "We don't ever have to see them again if you don't want to."
