Author's note: Continuation of Pick/Rome story.
Rome's body was so light in his arms. It didn't even take much effort to lift him and run to the nearest infirmary. Never in his life did Pick sprint like this. His heart was beating fast, and the thumping became wilder when he watched the nurse attending unconscious Rome. She said he was just exhausted and malnourished and recommended visiting a hospital for further examination. Pick nodded frantically, understanding even with his broken English. The nurse left. The silence in the room was heavy. Pick took Rome's small hand in his, caressing the back of it with his thumb. Rome's phone beeped and lit up the screen with a notice.
"The day I met P'Pick." He read out loud. His heart squeezed painfully. Only Rome would mark an anniversary like this.
