Introduction

The official story will start next chapter but I want to take a brief moment to introduce Fern and establish some relationships with him and the Byers Family/others of the California Arc

Also friendly note, this story takes place Winter of 1985, aka before the events of S4's California Crew Arc. Because of this, Will is going to be more careful since he's in a new environment... moving on.

Fernando 'Fern' Ramirez is a Stranger Things OC I made for the introduction of the California Arc in S4.

They're 14, turning 15 in September, the 8th 1986.
They identify as nonbinary and use he/they pronouns, which I know is a bit 'unrealistic' but I wanted my oc to be a bit different and so they could resonate with Will.
Fern has a small family, they have their mom and uncle, Gloria Ramirez and Carlos Ramirez, and their brother Mateo Ramirez.
Fern is pansexual
Fern's actor face claim is Nicolas Bechtel, a latino actor to match their latino background
Fern has heterochromia, more specifically, complete heterochromia.

Fern has interests in DnD, Art and Music.
•For DnD they play a shapeshifter bard, who works as a healer for the makeshift DnD club at Lenora Hills High.
•For Art, Fern doodles and often draws characters they've made up or draw people in their class.
•For Music, Fern's favorite artist is most likely Cyndi Lauper because he resonates with the music a lot, or his favorite song is Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks.

Fern's backstory for ST was they were in Lenora Hills since 1970 when his mom moved to take a job offering from Mexico. Gloria is a lawyer and his uncle, Carlos works as a car mechanic, however both still manage to be around for Fern and Mateo's lives.
When Fern started attending high school, he was overwhelmed with the fact that he'd be away from Mateo, but after the first few weeks, you eventually adapt and they felt at ease.
Will and Fern met in general science where they exchange notes and doodles that they complete during class, sometimes doodling is a great way to focus during class, the two then realized that they were like puzzle pieces and connected more than they expected.

In the end, I have tried to flesh out Fern as best as I can to make sure people like them, I want this to be an oc x canon fanfiction, not a x reader story. So this'll be a way to exercise my writing skills, if you like my writing, make sure to check out my other books.
