Chapter 4: Small town problems

Haji slowly wakes up from where he was sleeping, and looks around the comfortable stump of the tree over the lake. He yawns as he then sits up and tries to walk on 2 paws, followed by him falling over face first immediately afterwards.

( Haji ) : I miss being able to stand up properly on two legs.

As he picks himself up again and shakes dust off his fur, face and tail, he looks over the lake near the mountain where the hidden little town is. Realizing he has no idea how to get money, or even read and write in this universe, he decides to go to the school that Sparky mentioned. As he makes his way back to town, he sees Katt talking to some Flareon who had his all four of his furry paws colored blue. And on his frontal right leg, he could make out what seemed to be an Arm Band that was Blue with a black stripe in the middle, and he could barely make out the letters, BluF. Haji quickly scampers behind a tree and uses his ears to listen in.

( Katt ) : Look I told you Syd, I'd love to really help you guys out, but you know how Terr is, and you know I have no where to go if I we're to be found by my brother doing this.

( Syd ) : Heeeyyy! Don't be like that! I know you be itchin to go n' cause so chaos ey zino?

( Katt ) : I AM itching to do it. But I can't right now! I legit am on my break, and he will kill me if I don't get back!

( Syd ) : Dude. Your bother'sa killjoy.

( Katt ) : I know dude. I know.

( Syd ) : You uh... still uh...

( Katt ) : Single? Happily so.

( Syd ) : Wh-no no! I was gonna ask if you had received your initiation gift yet? It was by the leader themselves personally y'know.

( Katt ) : No, not yet, but I would love it because I'm sick of this red flame. Blue flames are way cooler, half of the reason I joined.

Syd takes his paw beans and snaps them together creating a flame in his hand. But instead of the usual red n oranges. It was more teal and ocean blue hues and vibrancy.

( Syd ) : I can't disagree sista! It feels as hot as it looks! Honestly can't be anywhere else without it. Not to mention what it was infused into! Totally rad mi Reyna.

As Haji listens in, he hears Katt peace out and walk back to town... but then realizes that he still has no clue where Syd went. He pokes his head out from behind the tree and notices that Syd was completely gone, and zero trace of him. Haji looks around a bit more before he is grappled and pinned to a tree, staring Syd in the face.

( Syd ) : Heeyyy Amigo! Did you think I couldn't hear you from there? We are both eevees in the ain't we?

( Haji) : H-hey I wasn't spying! I could hear you from a long distance!

( Syd ) : Yea. And so can I Chico.

( Haji ) : I-I wasn't even gonna do anything. Why do I care if Katt is in a club!? Its her th- achk leaggh.

Syd lets go so Haji can breath. And backs off a bit so Haji can regain himself. As he does, he can now read Syd's arm band fully. It says Team BluF, in Gold letters, with a "IV" followed after.

( Syd ) : You said Club. Amigo, do you not know who I am?

( Haji ) : Four?? I mean your name is Syd, but I have no clue what your band means.

Syd looks at his wrist band and exhales while rolling his eyes.

( Syd ) : Aaayyyeeeee, is gettimg soo annoying. Amigo, you're the 3rd person today who's asked who we are. Yo Tengo, "Conqisto de Verano!" And my team is the greatest group in de world!
