Chapter 5: A Town in Need

As Haji wakes up and looks around he estimates its about noon, with how the sun is about half way in the sky. As he looks over the lake, he thinks about all the problems in the town. He knew the Pokémon were suffering, but he didn't know how to help. He sighed and walked back to town annoyed that he had no clue what to do. As he walks into the bustling town, he notices a lot of the younger Pokémon are out and about talking to one another. Amongst the crowd, Jasper waves and walks over.

( Haji ) : Must be not a school day huh?

( Jasper ) : You could say that, but its more like it's getting close to the Harvest.

( Haji ) : That's right, Katt and Terr's family used to host it.

( Jasper ) : And now Terr is doing it as a last resort. Can't blame him honestly, that mayor is really gonna take his coin this time.

( Haji ) : And what about Sparky?

Jasper looks around before whispering in Haji's ear.

( Jasper ) : Actually, that's something I need to urgently talk about with you. Lets get to my room, cant risk her a rumor for the town.

As they make their way quickly to the café, it was crowded more than ever, and the door had a line going out of it. Jasper sighs before using his vines and pulling him and Haji through a window into his room.

( Haji ) : You seem used to this.

( Jasper ) : A lot of late nights, a ton of untagged or unopened luggage for Sparky to open with me one at a time.

( Haji ) : Ok, so what's the problem currently that Sparky told you?

( Jasper ) : She's leaving town. I thought it was an overreaction, but She's prepared to get out of town this time. She really wants to see the Wiachi Festival. And I can't blame her with how nice it is. But she really is ready, and is gonna sneak out tonight.

( Haji ) : Well wha-

( Jasper ) : Nothing! Haji we can't do anything. I love Sparky more than anything, and I know how stubborn she is. And that the Wiachi Festival is a part of that Hope she clings to. Her parents saw it once and wanted to take her, but after the incident, she's wanted to see if for herself. I'm not gonna stop her Haji, and I'm letting you know not to stop her either.

( Haji ) : I-I wasn't going to, I was asking what do you want me to do to help? I haven't trained, I have no clue how to use my abilities, or anything with Mirror Powers or whatever the magic called. Me going after and trying to stop her blindly without thinking is a bad idea. So what do you want me to do to help?

Jasper look surprised and blushes a bit embarrassed for assuming.

( Jasper ) : O-oh. I thought you with Kuro yesterday may have made you think differently.

( Haji ) : He actually told me if Sparky ran off, to act as her compass. I think you'd be better at that Jasper, but he mostly told me things like she needs to get over her trauma and stuff like that.

( Jasper ) : Of course he does. Dude, I get he's old and wise. But the older you are, the more you overbearing you seem and end up wisecracking down on them.

( Haji ) : Do Pokémon actually dislike Kuro at all?

( Jasper ) : He nice as long as you're not his pupil. Witch really sucks for Sparky. Especially with what he teaches to Sparky. At least she is stubborn enough to ignore him, because he would make her even more scared if she did listen. Regardless, just don't get near Kuro, he has a weird sense. Like he can see things that only we can hear.

( Haji ) : I mean, Otta said there's something she wanted to show me and Sophie later tonight with Ax. Vance sure was excited about it though what ever it was.
