                               Back story

There are people whose names are remembered because they changed the course of history.

And then there are those whose stories were quietly woven into that history, hidden between the lines of legends that everyone believed they already knew.

Alice Queenie Scamander belonged to the latter.

Born into one of the most respected wizarding families in Britain, she carried a surname that opened doors long before she was old enough to understand why. As the granddaughter of the legendary Magizoologist, Newt Scamander, she had grown up surrounded by stories that spoke of extraordinary creatures, impossible adventures and a world where compassion was often a far greater strength than power itself. Yet if there was one lesson her grandfather had unknowingly passed down to every generation that followed him, it was that even the gentlest hearts were capable of remarkable courage.

It was perhaps no surprise, then, that the Sorting Hat had barely touched her head before declaring her a Hufflepuff.

Loyalty had always been woven into the very fabric of who she was.

Long before she became one of Hogwarts' brightest witches, before she fought in wars that no child should ever witness, and before fate decided to entangle her life with another universe entirely, Alice had simply been a girl who believed there was goodness hidden inside everyone she met.

She trusted easily.

She forgave quickly.

She loved without hesitation.

And perhaps that was both her greatest strength and her greatest weakness.

Unlike most students, Alice never experienced an ordinary Hogwarts education. From the very beginning she found herself standing beside Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, facing dangers that should never have belonged to children barely entering their teenage years. Somewhere along the way, people stopped referring to them as the Golden Trio. Whether the history books would ever acknowledge it or not, everyone at Hogwarts knew the truth.

There had always been a fourth.

A Hufflepuff.

A Scamander.

A girl who refused to leave her friends behind, no matter how dangerous the road ahead became.

If Harry was courage, Hermione intelligence and Ron unwavering friendship, then Alice became the quiet heart that held them together whenever fear threatened to tear them apart.

For three years, she laughed alongside them, celebrated victories beside them and survived every impossible challenge fate placed before their feet. She believed, with the unshakable optimism only teenagers possess, that no darkness could ever truly defeat those who stood together.

Then came the Triwizard Tournament.

Everything changed.

The death of Cedric Diggory stole far more than the life of a seventeen-year-old Hufflepuff champion.

It stole Alice's laughter.

It stole the effortless warmth that had once illuminated every room she entered.

It stole the part of her that still believed happy endings were guaranteed for good people.

Those who had known her before often spoke about the remarkable difference. The girl who had once smiled so freely became quieter with every passing month, as though grief had settled permanently within her soul. Although she continued standing beside Harry, Ron and Hermione throughout the Second Wizarding War, and even helped lead Dumbledore's Army alongside Harry during their fifth year, those closest to her understood that some wounds refused to heal, no matter how many victories followed.

They watched her fight.

They watched her survive.

But they also watched her mourn someone she never truly stopped loving.

Not even after Voldemort's defeat.

Not even after peace finally returned to the wizarding world.

Time, as it turned out, was a poor healer.

Years after the Battle of Hogwarts, with the scars of war still lingering beneath the surface of everyday life, Alice made a decision that surprised nearly everyone around her. Hoping that distance might succeed where time had failed, she accepted an invitation from her godfather and travelled across the Atlantic alongside her father and younger brother, leaving Britain behind in search of a fresh beginning.

Her godfather, however, was not an ordinary wizard.

In fact, he was not a wizard at all.

To the magical world, the name Tony Stark meant very little.

To everyone else, it meant everything.

Billionaire.

Genius.

Inventor.

Iron Man.

Neither of them could have imagined that what was supposed to be a temporary escape would become the beginning of a story far greater than either world had ever anticipated.

Because sometimes destiny does not knock politely before changing your life.

Sometimes it crashes into it.
