You woke up at around three in the morning when you heard crying. It was Alma. Though she was asleep, and hiding her face in your chest. "Miss Peregrine? Hey! Hey, wake up!" You started talking to her, shaking her by the shoulders in hopes she'd open her eyes.

She eventually did, eyes darting around, terrified for a good moment. "Off, off! No touching!" She said, pushing you away and sitting down, holding herself in her arms. You sat nearby, holding back from reaching over to take her hand in yours. She sighed, letting herself go to look at her shaking hands. "I'm sorry.." She whispered, pulling her hands back.

"It's okay." You hesitated but opened your arms. Can I..?" She nodded leaning closer to allow to to wrap your arms around her. "Do you want to talk about it?" She shook her head, tired yet scared to sleep. "Then would you like to go back to bed?" She shook her head again, not trusting herself to speak. "Well if we're going to be awake at three in the morning, I want to be reading. Do you want me to read aloud to you until you feel like sleeping?" She hesitated a moment before nodding.

You pulled away from her carefully, standing up and going to walk to your room to retrieve the book you had in mind, completely unaware of Alma following a few paces behind, unwilling to be left alone. You turned around, surprised when you found her standing in your doorway. You smiled and walked over, wrapping and arm around her waist and giving her a one armed hug for a brief moment. Afterwards you walked back to her room with her, your hand resting on the small of her back.

Once back in bed she laid down, right neck to you, who was sat up. You read aloud to her for an hour until she finally fell back asleep. From there you set your book aside and turned off the bedside lamp before resting an arm over her to go back to bed yourself.

You awoke to a pillow hitting your face. You opened your eyes to find Olive standing over you. "Get up. Emma's up to her tomfuckery again and I don't want to wake Miss P." You heard a snicker somewhere else in the room and noticed Enoch standing at the end of the bed, looking at a photograph.

He then looked up at you, smirking and waving it back and forth in the air. "You two sure got cuddled up last night. Got evidence and everything."

"Enoch!" You nearly yelled, sitting up and pulling yourself away from Miss Peregrine. "How dare you. And Olive, what's she done?"

"It's more like what she's going to do... She's told everyone, except for the youngest few, about Opal. They're planning to raid her place or something like that. Apparently she's taken up residence on the island for the day, outside the loop. She's only been in our loop five years so she's not going to age, therefore has no reason to rush to get away from us."

"Emma basically plans to give her a reason." Enoch said nonchalantly." Oh, I have so many ideas! I'm stealing her toilet paper and stuffing a single role into the bowl to clog it! She must fudged for what she's done to our beloved Miss..." His voice faded away as he walked down the hall. Though from what you gathered, he truly cared about Miss Peregrine, and was pushed that Opal would hurt her like this. He soon poked his head back in. "You coming? They're about to leave and I suggest we go now so as to be back before she wakes up." He nodded towards Miss Peregrine then left the room again without waiting for an answer.

You followed the large group outside. "For the record I think this is a horrible idea! And where are the younger children?"

"Well it looks like you're still coming with!" A voice attached to no body responded, Millard. "They're all still asleep, don't worry. If Miss P didn't wake them up every morning they'd lay there all day."

You soon arrived at Opal's house, being carful and sneaking around. Millard checked the area before hand, finding that Opal was at the pub and wouldn't be home anytime soon. Everyone immediately started on their own torture ideas. Olive stole the backs to every earrings in the house. Emma stole everything she liked, most of which were shiny things, and a shower head. Hugh left a few bees in common places around the house to sting her. Horace set every clock ten minutes ahead, which he decided would confuse her but wasn't too far ahead for her to notice for a while. Fiona grew a large tomato plant in the living room, which was apparently a fruit that Opal hated and wrote a large 'FUCK YOU' on her bedroom wall with crushed tomatoes. Enoch went through with is toilet idea, not only clogging that, but every damn pipe in the house with toilet paper. He left behind a single square to further taunt her.

You decided that though their methods were all good, that you needed to go over the top. You stole all her pillows and cut any blankets she had into shreds. You took her nicest shirts and cut them in half, along with most of her other nice clothes. You cut an inch from one leg of every table, chair, and couch in the house to give everything a permanent wobble. You loosened the cap of every seasoning shaker in the house so when she tried to sprinkle a little, a ton poured out instead. You took one sock from every pair and had Olive burn them into a pile on her floor. You proceeded to baby proof the entire home, locking every cabinet and the refrigerator, putting metal protective covers over every electrical socket. You took every bit of food from before hand, poring it all on the floor. You then added a mix of horrible looking hair dye colors, (that would easily come out) to her shampoo and conditioner.

You all had a grand time and returned back to the home only two hours later after doing your worst to Opal's house. Alma had woken up, but haven't been awake very long so you told her you'd taken all the kids that woke up early to get ice cream and apologized for worrying her.

And she would've been none the wiser if it weren't for Horace's dream outing you all. It showed Fiona standing proudly next to her writing on the wall. And you ripping up clothes and throwing food on the floor, destroying anything you could. You carefully avoided Miss Peregrine's glare as you looked at the screen. Next it showed Emma stuffing her dress pockets, and Olive burning various items.

The lights flickered on and the projection cut off. "Children. I can't believe you would do something like that to a normals house but I'll need more information. Was this in or outside of the loop? And you better say in."

You looked around, knowing that no one would speak up, so you did. "It was Opal's. I permitted it, though I know it wasn't necessarily permission I'm allowed to give. You must understand why we felt reason to do what we did."

Alma was stunned for a moment, quiet and glaring. "To bed. All of you." Was all she said before leaving the room, presumably to do reset. You sighed and ushered all the children upstairs and put the younger ones to bed, trusting the older ones to be able to do so themselves. You waited in the hall for Miss Peregrine to come up a few minutes later. When she finally did she didn't look at you. "What you did was really risky, Y/n. Worst of all you dragged my children into it, and they're all I have! No one may ever leave the loop without my knowing so."

"I'm very sorry Miss Peregrine. I won't do it again, promise. But, please look at me." You said, lifting a hand to her face to redirect her gaze from the floor to you. "In all your fear for your children's safety, you forget to take care of yourself. They worry for you just as much as you worry about them."

She sighed. "Your right. I wish you weren't. I don't want them to worry too much about me, I can take care of myself."

"That's clearly not true." You gave her a small smile and pulled her closer to you for a hug. "Now, would you like company tonight, or shall I sleep in my own room?"

"Company, if you wouldn't mind."

"I wouldn't." You said, turning towards her door.

It was really fun coming up with different ways to torture Opal
