Waking up before the alarm you set up, I guess many people go through that sometimes.
Either when you've got a day off to relax or when you've something to do, our body just knows how to prepare us.

This is what happened on the day I was off to Seattle for a new beginning. As sensitive as I am, I remember my last morning with my parents to be a heavy and sad one. I cried bitterly on my way as I've never been without them, yet I had a part in me determined to live the life I've dreamt of, hence, I did what i had to do to vent and gathered myself up.
My parents were the happiest for me and my dad joked about having my mum alone for himself.

Taking this very happy memory in a picture, I left with a promise to make them proud.

Upon reaching Seattle, I was just blown away by how it felt to just be in that place. I was finally the place I've always wanted to be. It all felt surreal.
The sun touching my skin, a light breeze through my hair and an excitement rushing through my body as I stepped in front of the apartment that my cousin sister left for me.

Finding my way up to the 4th floor, I opened the door to the balcony to just breathe in the air of Seattle, feeling content of where I stand and ready to face life.

After a while, I realised that the apartment was left quite messy and dusty as it's been 2 weeks since she was gone. I quickly rearranged things and finally took a seat on the couch while appreciating the small cosy space I've got to live in.

*Phone ringing*!!!

I was startled by the sound of my ring tone and realise I've slept through the rest of my day. I reached out to my phone on the table next to me, and answered the call.

"Sam darling! We were waiting for your call. I'm pretty sure you've slept through the day. How are things there?" said my mother with an excited tone.

"Oh it's great mum! I was just tidying up the place. It feels great to just be here. I'm sorry I haven't called earlier, I slept right through the day as you've guessed. I'm just gonna go grab dinner out somewhere for today. I'll call you guys tomorrow, love you!"

"I'm so happy for you Sam, take care my love." - answered my mum.

As I hanged up, I could feel my head going all dizzy and my tummy making weird noises. It was time I have dinner before I fall sick. I had a quick shower following which I just went for a walk down the road looking for some place to grab dinner.

I finally found a small cosy space where i could just enjoy a simple yet delicious burger. As I went in, I realised the place was really packed. I decided to grab something and just have it at the appartment. While waiting for my order, a young girl approached me asking if I'm okay as I seemed lost and could notice I've been standing by the counter for the past 15 minutes.

I responded, "Oh thank you but I'm okay. I'm just waiting on my order and I'll go home as the place is packed already."

"Why don't you grab a seat with us? I'm here with a friend and we wouldn't mind another company." - she responded pointing towards another girl right in the corner of the restaurant.

As I was starving, I thought about the amount of time it would take me to walk back to my apartment. I'd better sit with them and have dinner.

After getting my order, I went to have a seat with them and quickly started eating.

"Thank you so much for letting me sit here. I was starving and I've been so tired from my journey today. I'm Sam by the way, short for Samantha." - I said.

Putting a huge smile on her face, the girl responded - "That's not a problem at all. This place is always packed at this hour. We were lucky enough to get a table. I'm Lisa and this is my girlfriend Amy."

"Nice to meet you guys. You're the first person I'm actually getting to know here in Seattle. It's my first day in here" - I said.

"Really? Lemme guess, here to pursue your dream job?" - uttered Lisa all excited.

"Very well guessed. Actually I've always admired the work that the Scott enterprises have done all these years. Though I now have a degree in Business administration, getting any job position there would be a dream come true. I've actually heard there's a vacancy for the personal secretary post of Mr Charles Scott's son." - I said.

Frowning, and lifting one eyebrow up with an upset face, Lisa responded
"Are you talking about Tyler Scott? Charles and Amanda Scott's son?"

Unable to comprehend her sudden change of mood, I quietly responded confirming what she's been asking me. Her face dropped and she exclaimed saying:

"Oh girl!! I was working there a few months ago, and I was fired in a matter of 2 days. Tyler Scott is literally one of the most rude person I've ever met. He wants everything perfect and the slight mistake you do, you're out with a bag of insult to carry. People working under him get fired every now and then."

As those words slipped out from her mouth, I could feel my self confidence suddenly sinking in and my inner voice telling me that this is never going to work and to just go back home. I sat down quietly trying to digest what I've just heard about the person I've wanted to work with. All this time, I thought I was gonna try my luck to get to work with a successful man who could teach me a thing or two and even build my career. But he now sounded as being the completely opposite of what I thought.

"Ugh.. I'm shocked to hear that. I so want to work in that company. It's been indeed my dream." I said.

Seeing my face drop as I held a last piece of burger in my hand, Amy grabbed my hand and squeezed it, "Listen, I think you should just go for it. Maybe this job will work you and you might be the right choice. And I don't think there is no one who can handle Tyler Scott."

"I confirm there cannot be a single person on this earth who could handle or change the Tyler Scott. He's an ass, but I do agree that Sam should indeed give it a try." responded Lisa.

I nodded with a smile and finished the last bit of my burger. After an hour of chatting, the girls and I made our way out. We exchanged numbers and address to catch up and they promised to show me around during the weekend. It felt safe to know that they only live 10 minutes away and I could get in touch with them at any time.

As I walked by home, I kept hearing the words of Lisa about Tyler Scott in my head. The decision I was once determined about seemed like a risky thing now. I took out my phone and texted Chase updating him about things here and asking for an advice.

"There's nothing in this world that you cannot do. Even if there is, I've never seen you give up before trying. It's your dream. Go after it Sam. ;)"

I smiled at the very sweetest message my best friend had responded with. One thing I was now sure of is that I will definitely try.
As I reached my appartment, I took a long breath in and out and got inside. Opening my laptop, I went onto the Scott's website where I had one last document to submit to confirm my application for the personal secretary job.

I stared at the screen for a while before clicking on submit. This was the moment I felt determined to pursue what I really want.

"Rude or not.. I have to make this work and prove myself." I murmured to myself.

I took a shower and changed into a night wear. I silently hoped to receive an answer the very next day from the Scott's enterprise as they were actively recruiting for this position.

Tucking myself in, I sighed and closed my eyes and wondered what would happen as of now...
