It was the summer of 77', and war was brewing, wether Eloise Rosier knew it or not. That was the last thing on her mind. All Eloise could think about was the Sacred Twenty Eight Debutante Ball being hosted at her family home this evening.

Eloise was turning seventeen soon, which came with obligations and duties she must fulfill. This would be the year her parents would find her the "perfect suitor". And by the perfect suitor she meant someone who would be politically advantageous for her family. Which didn't sit well with Eloise considering she didn't want to be married at all at the ripe age of seventeen, let alone to someone she didn't love.

"Tilly!", she called.

"Yes Misses Eloise? Tilly is here to serve." Her dutiful house elf stated. Tilly had been a loyal house elf to the Rosier family for at least four generations now.

"Could you help me get ready for this evening? I need my hair styled and for you to zip my dress."

"Yes misses! I would be so glad to help! Oh misses Eloise you will look so beautiful, dancing the night away!" Eloise loved that silly house elf, but she couldn't help but sigh in and feel dissatisfied about her life. She didn't want to be presented, and she surely didn't feel like dancing with every potential suitor at this ball.
...

Eloise looked at herself in the mirror. She looked beautiful. Eloise wasn't one to be bashful about her appearance. Eloise knew she was beautiful. Everyone knew Eloise was beautiful, she was the beauty of house Rosier after all.

Stepping out of her room and walking down the endless corridor stood her brother Evan, waiting to take her to be presented. "Oh sister, you look absolutely stunning. You are sure to find a good match. Father already said you had five potential courtship offers and you haven't even been presented yet!"

Evan was a year older then Eloise, and the Heir to House Rosier and fortune with their many vaults at Gringotts. Evan had blonde hair, and light pale green eyes, compared to her dark hair and dark brown eyes. While she loved her brother, he wasn't the brightest. Could he not see this wasn't what she wanted? Did he not know how outdated this was?

"Thank you brother, one can only hope that father will make a good match for me." She rolled her eyes.

The pair were quiet as the walked to the landing on the staircase, where she saw many other girls dressed in equally as beautiful gowns as her own. As Eloise and Evan approached the top of the stair case he kissed her cheek and headed down the stairs, where he would wait to formally introduce her.

"Eloise! Oh look at you! A beauty you are, and a sight for sore eyes. I've missed you, how has your summer been so far? You haven't written me all summer?" Her best friend Astoria Greengrass said, and pulled her into a hug.

Astoria and Eloise had been best friends since their first day at Hogwarts. Astoria had long brown hair, and beautiful blue eyes. She was warm, caring, and loyal as they come.

"You look gorgeous as well. I'm so sorry I haven't written, I've been extremely busy.." she started to say but stopped herself. How was she going to attempt to explain why she was to busy to write her best friend? Anything she would've said would've sound like a shitty excuse.

"Eloise Rosier!" Oh no she thought. It was her turn to be presented. Even though she was not eager to be presented at the ball doesn't mean she wasn't nervous. Eloise felt like she was going to throw up, having all these eyes on her. She wasn't usually shy, but having everyone stare at her as she walked down the stairs felt awkward. Like she had showed up to class in her underwear instead of her robes.

"Eloise Rosier, is sixteen, almost seventeen year olds next month, she is the daughter of Felix and Cassandra Rosier, and the little sister of Evan Rosier who is presenting her tonight. Eloise is in House Slytherin at Hogwarts. In her spare time she volunteers at her mothers Charity."

As she reached the bottom of the stairs she took Evans hand, and walked to the dance floor. Eloise wouldn't lie, she loved to dance. As a child her and her brother had private dance lessons, like most pureblood children, in preparation for moments like this.

"May I cut in?" Eloise didn't need to turn her head to know who had interrupted the dance between the two siblings.

It was Regulus Black.
