Chapter 11 - Lectures

After 1 day of recovery, Diana and Daisy were back to their usual selves before they became battered and bruised by Jade's test. The two girls were inside Yukio's room writing a journal for him to read when he wakes up, eventually..

Yukio has been asleep for 2 days, the first day being the day the trio got here, and today after Diana and Daisy returned. The two girls were bathed and fed by Jade after their test, thanks to her nursing and care, the two girls were back to normal. And Diana's arm was healing again!

"Dear Yukio.." Diana muttered to herself once she pulled out a green journal that Jade gave her. 'Remember that lady we met yesterday near the temple? Her name is Jade and she is training me and Daisy to become vampire slayers! We're going to become as strong as you and her and help you find whoever killed your family. I promise that when you wake up, me and Daisy will be able to protect you and ourselves, so you don't have to worry about our safety. We'll get through this together Yukio. Sweet dreams, me and Daisy hope you'll wake up soon, Daisy will tell you about the things we went through yesterday when you were asleep!' - Diana'

Diana smiles after writing her paragraph down on one page of the Journal, soon turning to her right to give it to Daisy, who was combing Yukio's messy hair and holding his small head on her lap.

Daisy smiles and takes the Journal and ink ripped pen from Diana, soon writing down her message: 'Dear Yukio, Yesterday we were set down a text to go down the mountain before sunrise and you won't believe what happened while we were trying to get down! There were traps set by Master Jade everywhere on the path and mountain. Me and Diana struggled but we made it! And now we're training to become vampire slayers, we hope you wake up soon Yukio. We cant wait to see you up and bright again! Sleep well. - Daisy'

After she wrote her message, Daisy places the journal down next to the Futon, under a paper lantern that was lit dimly and slightly lighting up the dark room. Yukio's room was lit by lanterns, and the windows were covered to block the sunlight that would harm him.

Diana and Daisy exchanged looks of sadness, sad to see that Yukio is still asleep for two days, and possibly more. Daisy places Yukio's head back on the pillow and allow him to dose off.

Yukio let's out a sigh of relief in his sleep and turns away from the girls, snuggling into the blanket that was covering his little body.

The two girls awes at the sight, their attention soon shifting behind them when they heard the door to Yukio's room slides open. There it reveals Jade in a different attire. Now she had a vampire slayer uniform with the same purple haori hung over her shoulders, now on Jades waist is a white belt that was tight around her hips.

"Girls. It's time for training, let's leave Yukio alone now." Jade whispered, Diana and Daisy nodded and stood up quietly. The two girls were wearing different Haori's now since the Haori's they wore yesterday was ruined by the rain and mud in their test.

Now they were wearing matching purple Haori's from Jade's closet. 'This woman's favorite color is purple..' Diana thought with a slightly amused grin.

Diana and Daisy follow Jade out Yukio's room, closing the door behind them quietly and soon turning back to following Jade outside, to her backyard where they're going to train in a nearby bamboo forest.

The three were now standing outside in Jade's backyard surrounded by tall bamboo trees that seem to expand everywhere they looked. Jade turns to the two girls, "Before we begin, let me tell you about some history of the Vampire Slayer Corps."

The two girls nod and gesture Jade to explain, "The Vampire Slayer Corps has around several hundred members, it's an organization that is unrecognized by the government. Before, it was called The Demon Slayer Corps since multiple types of demons, like your friend, existed back then until some evolved to become vampires. Despite this organization being unrecognized, it existed since ancient times. And we continue to do our job today, which is to slay vampires. For demons, everyone in the corps think they have have gone extinct thanks to vampires but it appears to be false since your friend is a demon."

Daisy and Diana were about to pipe up before Jade continued to explain, "But as for who's leading the Vampire Slayer Corps, that remains a mystery."

"Vampires, vampires only food source are humans! They kill humans and feed on their blood, sometimes eating the flesh. No one knows when and how demons evolved to become vampires. Their physical prowess is remarkable, Wounds heal in the blink of an eye. Flesh and limbs being restored and regenerated after being hacked off, some vampires can shape-shift, and some have other worldly powers."

Diana and Daisy shuddered after Jade said that, vampires who still have the ability to create so called blood arts, only obtained after eating a bunch of humans or rather in Yukio's case, strong will.

"These monsters can only be killed by sunlight or by decapitation with a special sword. The Vampire slayers battle these monsters with their own mortal bodies. Since they're human, their wounds are slow to heal, and once lost, their limbs won't grow back, ever! Even so, they still battle vampires to protect others who are weaker and vulnerable than them." Jade finished with a dark and sad look, remembering something about her past.

Diana and Daisy shudder in awe and slight excitement, one day they'll get to protect humans and kill vampires, possibly even saving humanity if possible. "I'm not done yet. Let me lecture you about something else before we begin your training."

"Hai." The two girls responded, Jade nods and pats their heads with a small smile, gaining two smiles back from the two girls.

"Now for my history, I'm a trainer. I train swordsmen and swordswomen. There are many other trainers out there, and each of them train their pupils with their own regimen in their location."

"To join The Vampire Slayer Corps, you two must survive the final selection process held on Mt. Nakano. Whether or not you two are eligible for Final Selection is up to me."

"Now for you two's training. You are going to descend down the mountain again, this time you are timed for how long you take to get down. I'll be watching, so let's get back up and restart your test." Jade stated, Diana and Daisy groan in annoyance having to go through they terrifying mountain again.

The two girls were running down the mountain again, the fog much more thicker and the rain falling on them much more faster, the ground also seems to be more slippery. "So why did you write that Journal to Yukio, Diana?" Daisy asked through huffs of exhaustion, jumping a rope trap and getting through safely.

"I want him to get caught up and on what he missed while he was getting his beauty sleep!" Diana stated with a small smile, avoiding a hole trap with Daisy.

"I basically want him to see what he missed." Diana stated again, Daisy smiles and runs up with Diana, aligning herself with Diana so they can run at the same pace.

The moment was cut short when Diana tripped on a rope, triggering a log to come the two girls way. Diana's eyes widen and she moves away in time, Daisy already away from the log and waiting for Diana to get up.

Diana quickly gets up and follows Daisy down the mountain once more. The two are determined to get stronger so they can pass Final Selection.
