The wind blows cold along the icy windows of the palace, as the banquet drones on in the vast room of the Diamond hall the Crown Prince Carlisle Evermorny grows tired of the evenings festivities as its been hours of greetings with people whom only seek his favor as he is next in line for the thrown of Evermore. He fiddles with his wine glass almost empty from boredom rather than the desire to drink.
The violinists play quietly in the background to entertain those not enthralled in the grasps of conversation. As the tune comes to an end and a new begins he sees many couples and suitors making their way to the the main floor of the Diamond hall its sparkling marble floors now covered by the dresses and shoes of the esteemed guests.
He watches a moment as the couples glide across the blue and white gem encrusted room the rhythm of their foot steps to the tune appeasing his ears, when suddenly in his daze he just barely hears the breaking of glass.
Although no one else seems to have heard it, 'I must've misheard.' He thought to himself, but again he heard another faint thud followed by a small cry. He makes his way out of the ballroom and to the nearest balcony, where he finds a woman helping herself up with the marble railing, fresh tears upon her soft supple now red cheeks her soft mulberry coloured hair a ruffled mess as she attempts to quickly smooth it with her frail hands.
Her eyes a shade of purple the name of which escapes him."Are you alright Madame?" His words starling her "Yes?Yes! I'm fi-" she cuts herself short as she quickly recognized just whom she was speaking "Oh your highness greetings my many apologies if I've disturbed your fresh air i shall leave you at once!" She said bowing remorsefully.
Another sound of glass cracking as she does so. Carlisle raises a brow 'what is she hiding' he wonders. "Ah! I'm sorry your highness I've seemed to have knocked over a vase Im dearly sorry I will pay for the damaged item!" She says panicked stepping away from the large sharp shards of porcelain."What is your name? Are you alright? I heard a cry. I only came to check do not worry over something as minuscule as a vase, we have hundreds just like it." He asks again fearing the beautiful lady may have harmed herself trying to clean up the shards.
"Ah! Yes your highness my name is Tyrian Demontè first daughter of Viscount Alaric Demontè! I'm fine sire. I think your ears are playing tricks on you. Thank you kindly for your concern your highness but i have to go back in. I wish I could tell you of the noise but I didn't hear a thing, it must've been the wind you heard, it must've been the wind..."
She promptly bows and swifly makes her way back into the ballroom with only the flash of her green dress as she disappears through the balcony doors, leaving the concerned prince by his lonesome on the cold cold balcony.
"Millis!" He calls to his personal maid always there ready to give her helping hands to his highness. "Yes Prince Carlisle how may I assist?" She looks at him eagerly awaiting his kind instructions. "Millis could you please have this case cleaned up and replaced I seem to have broken it." He says with a soft smile. "Yes sire! Right away! Shall I help you to your rooms afterwards sir?" She says as she immediately begins to sweep up the broken porcelain.
"No thank you Millis I shall escort myself tonight you may take your leave for the evening after this task." He says his tiredness evident in his voice as he turns on his heels and makes his way back into the castle. "Thank you sire sweet dreams this night Prince Carlisle!" She said sweetly humming as she finishes up her task. And as he makes his way through the ballroom Tyrian is no where in sight and so he slowly makes his way to his rooms to retire for the evening.
