You Make Me Happy, But...

Chapter 4

Shawn arrives at Monica's house. Monica is always wearing her knee dress and she loves it. She has her earphones in with her iPod. The music is still off. He knocks the door but, he feels nervous.

Aunt Melissa opens it and she smiles at Shawn which means she may trusts Shawn too.

~ Shawn's POV

There is her aunt who opens the door and she smiles at me, does she think I look fine? Her hand taps on my head, "You're such the best boy ever!" she says as she smiles at me.

Really? I thought I was such a soldier. I reply, "Oh... Thanks!" and she lets me in. She yells Monica to get out of her room, "Nic! Someone special is here!"
She called me special? Wow.

~ Monica's POV

Please tell me how do I look like now? I usually wear a knee dress because it's so easy on me. I get my stick beside my bed and I walk to downstairs with it carefully.

I heard that they are in the living room and I have to find them. I say, "Now, what?" and Shawn answers, "Long walks with me?" I smile.

Then, Shawn says, "You don't need to use that stick." I reply, "Why? People will laugh at me if my hands are flying" and they chuckle, "No, it's fine!" my aunt says. Shawn replies, "I can lead you anyway!" I throw the stick and smile.

~ Shawn's POV

I think this will work without her stick because I'm going to walk with her and lead her to walk. I say, "We will have some fun, right?" and then her aunt pinches my waist but her aunt seems happy, "OUCH" and Monica asks, "What's wrong?" and I lie, "Oh... No--Nothing, let's go!"

Her aunt hugs her, I think her aunt is such a great mother for her.

She finds my hand so quick. Wow.

** 20 minutes later

I take her to the park and I sit with her. I really want to know a lot about her so much.

I ask, "Want to play Q&A?" and she answers, "Go ahead, you first!" and I reply, "Okay"

"Since when you were blind?"
"10" she says with no expression.

"How are your parents dead?"
"A plane crash"
"A plane crash?" I ask again.
she nods.

"Have you ever been in a relationship before?"
"No, I've never kissed anyone too"
NICE!

"Do you enjoy music so much?"
"Of course"

"Who is your favorite singer?"
"I can't choose one. I think Lea Michele is the best singer ever"

"How about band?"
"I can't choose one too"

"If you weren't blind, what would you do?"
"I would be happy and I would thank God."

"Do you see colors in dreams?"
"Yeah. But, I don't see my friends and people I know. I touch things in mine"

"Can you cry with your condition?"
"Yes!"

"How do you find your favorite song on your iPod?"
"I use a program called Jaws for windows whic reads the text on screen and have the keyboard memorized"
"Jaws?" I ask.
"Jaws is one form of screen reading software. More questions, please? Stop asking me about how it feels like for being blind!"

"Okay, I'm sorry. How long have you been friends with Eufrosina?"
"Before at age 10"

"Favorite holidays?"
"Christmas"
