Olivia's first rule in life was not to fall in love with your friend. Which was a pretty good rule to follow, and one rule she had been following without a crack. So why the hell was James Fucking Leighton-Masters making her feel like she was thirteen again with a schoolgirl crush? It wasn't just a hookup attraction like it was with Harry. It was your lung squeezed with nerves, your palms sweating as you waited by the door, constantly getting up and fixing your appearance as you wait by the door for them to knock on it.

Olivia was breaking one of her rules, and she didn't know what to do with that. This wasn't even the first time James has escorted her to a dance. So why did it feel so different? Olivia took a deep breath, fixing the head piece in her hair. It was a Regency Era dance that her family was invited to, and Olivia needed an escort. James was the only one without two left feet and knew how the process went, so she requested he be her escort.

Her dress was a dark blue that highlighted her figure, with an embroidered empire waist. She was fixing her shoes when James arrived, knocking on her flat door. Olivia checked herself over one last time before opening the door.

"Hi," she said.

"Hi." His hair was slicked back and curled at the end (curtesy of Selena). He wore black dress pants, a white shirt and waistcoat, along with a dark blue suit jacket to match her dress. Olivia thought that this was his best style yet.

James held out his hand. "You ready?" He asked. Olivia nodded, wrapping a scarf around her shoulders. She grabbed his hand and followed him to his car, picking up the hem of her dress as she went. "I see Selena got her hands on you," Olivia teased.

James laughed, "she was very insistent."

"Sounds like her. You know I don't even know whose escorting her tonight. She wouldn't tell me."

"I do feel sorry for ever she's taking." James opened the car door, picking up her dress as she got in the seat. He closed the car door and got in the front seat. To anyone walking by, it would have seemed like such a weird sight of two people dressed in period drama clothing getting into a modern car.

It was an hour's drive; the party being all the way out in Watford. Olivia tapped her fingers along to a gentle tune playing through the car's speaker. "Did you manage to get the schedules?" Olivia looked up and nodded her head. "Called in some favors. I even know where they go after and between classes," she informed.
